Located at the mouth of the Teign estuary in South Devon, Teignmouth is a quaint seaside town that features a working harbour, a sandy beach, and a Victorian pier. Elegant Georgian buildings, a huge public area with lawns, play areas, tennis courts, a bowling alley, and a small lighthouse can all be found on the town's seaward side, dubbed "the Den." Views of the settlement of Shaldon and the peaks of Dartmoor may be viewed from the other side of Teignmouth. Folk and jazz festivals are held in Teignmouth each year, as well as carnivals and water regattas in the town and at Shaldon. The picturesque Dartmoor National Park, the city of Exeter, and the adjacent harbour towns are all worth experiencing if you opt to travel farther out from Teignmouth.
