About this property

Courtyard House is a delightful stone cottage, in a fabulous picturesque and relatively quiet street, yet within only a few minutes’ walk of Dartmouth’s famous waterfront, boutiques, galleries and restaurants. For those looking to explore South Devon’s coastline, the beaches of Start Bay can be reached within a 10-15 minute drive, whilst the all-weather family attraction Woodlands Leisure Park is just four miles away.

The property has a modern, well equipped open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room on the ground floor. On the first floor is a twin bedroom with plenty of storage and an en suite shower room. From this level, a door leads to a decked balcony with a table and four chairs – the perfect spot for enjoying an al fresco drink in the summer sunshine. On the second floor is a spacious double room, with King-size wooden bed, plus a fully tiled, contemporary en suite bathroom.

The property benefits from parking for one car in the courtyard - however please be aware that Clarence Hill is a relatively narrow lane with few passing places.

Courtyard House is a fabulous bolthole for a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings – ideal for couples or families with children over the age of 5 only.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the stunning Start Bay coastline, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.

Very peaceful and cosy. Very clean and well presented. We had a very restful break and even though we've been to Dartmouth many times we actually found other parts of it to explore. The cottage is up a quiet, narrow lane with little outside noise. The only noise we heard was the steam train whistle which was actually really nice. The parking space is a rarety in Dartmouth but make sure you are confident at parking as the space is tight as is the lane up to the cottage. Please be aware the cottage is up a hill or steps and being over three floors wouldn't suit everyone. Those who are fit and able and can park, will love the cottage and the surrounding area. We would certainly book again.

. the cottage was spotless. Well equipped and comfortable. Ideal location. Did not need the car. Parking space was a bonus, although a little tight when car parked next door. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
