What our customers say about their holidays

    • Joy - Verified booking

The cottage first of all was spotless.

So much attention to detail. There was milk and a lovely box of biscuits on arrival, very welcome after a long drive. We've stopped in a lot of holiday cottages and this one is definitely one of the better ones. The simple things that make a holiday cotrage have all been thought of. Everything you need for washing up, laundry, loo roll, foil, cling film...I could go on! There was plenty of crockery etc, again spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfy with lovely bedding. We took our own throws for the furniture....we have a dog, but these were also provided along with bowls, toys and even a dog bed in the dining area. Parking is limited, but that's made clear and we parked a 5 minute walk away and it wasn't an issue. I wouldn't say Bideford wowed me, but the wider area is so beautiful, even in late March and we like to go and visit different places so were just looking for a base. I can't reccomend the cotrage highly enough. Enclosed quiet garden and great communication from Debbie. We were lucky on the whole with the weather considering the time of year. Went to Appledore, Instow, Minehead, Lynton and Lynmouth, Padstow and loads of places inbetween. Dog friendly beaches a plus and they were huge! For value for money I can't say anything more than book !

Absolutely loved the property (please pass this compliment on to the owners, there wasn't a pen to write in the book. Very well appointed, perfect for us who like peace & queit. Not far from the main part but far enough to be peaceful. Loved the Burrows, what a treat. Plenty of little towns to walk to. The property itself had everything we needed & more, so nice to come back with all of our washing clean, just had to put it away once home! The bookshelf was a hit for me whilst the other half watched Snooker on the Smart TV. Netflix was great for our relaxing time after walks. Hottub really soothed our bones after hikes, especially as I carried our dog in her dog backpack. Our dog loved the area too, especially the sandy beach which was easy for her to walk on, she has arthritis. The beach was vast so lots of room for all dogs to run free. The property was very clean, well furnished & towels provided. Hot towel rail was another bonus. Just a lovely place!

      A great house,clean and inviting.

There was milk in the fridge and a nice box of biscuits waiting for us. It was a pleasure to use the very well equipped kitchen, which we made use of a lot,due to the fact that we did not have good weather during our stay. The garden was a bonus for my dog, safe and enclosed. I loved all the little handmade" seaside" ornaments and various pictures around the property. Parking was an issue close to the property, but we were able to find spaces each day in nearby streets, which saved on paying parking fees for the near by car park. I found the stairs very challenging, and would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues or young children. A hand rail placed on the left side wall on leaving the bathroom i feel would be of benefit. I suggest a chair to be put in the double bedroom for somewhere to place your clothes at night, due to the room having no wardrobe or hanging space. A good base to visit Devon's coastline.

Absolutely gorgeous property in rural location with wonderful hot tub . Particularly enjoyed the very quiet setting no traffic nor light pollution just a wake up to bird song Fantastic . We loved the fact that the cottage had sumptuously comfy beds, was very well furnished with appropriate facilities and cooking utensils and had a small rear enclosed grass garden which proved safe for our small cocker spaniel to wander in safely in between walks . The separate tap for the filtered water was also really delicious. We booked this as a last minute family break and so glad we did . Whilst there we used it as a base to visit the key Pitt’s quad biking ( just up the road ) Clovelly and also North Devon aqua park all on our list of holiday attractions . Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely return

Lovely warm, cosy, comfortable, and well equipped house.

This property is exactly how it is described the stairs are steep. Parking in the street is near on impossible ( you can pull up outside and unload/load) and there is a car park 5 minutes walk away that you can pay £22 for the week so not a problem. The information provided was minimal, for example there were no instructions on how to use things and although there was a chart for the rubbish and recycling there was no info about what could be recycled. Several lights didn't work but there was no book to write anything in. The owners did not reply to my email questions despite the initial introductory email saying I was welcome to email them. However we had a wonderful stay and would stay again. Bideford is a good base to see North Devon from beaches to moors.
