    Branscombe Holiday Cottages

Branscombe is a quaint village on the Jurassic Coastline in the south of Devon. Thatched cottages and narrow, winding streets make it a charming place to escape the hustle and bustle of a city, with National Trust buildings such as the Old Bakery and Forge. You'll also find the secluded beach only a short walk away and lots of great hiking routes over the cliffs.

We hand-pick all our holiday cottages in Branscombe for their character and location. Relax in a hot tub in one of our secluded cabins or book an airy barn conversion for big group holidays. For families, try our farmhouses with open-plan living areas, great for kids. Want to bring your dog? We also have dog-friendly cottages near great walking routes.

At Snaptrip, we offer thousands of UK holiday cottages, all backed by our best price guarantee. Whether you want to visit Manor Mill to see a fully working mill, or sit and enjoy ice cream on the beach, our handy search filters help you find your ideal Branscombe holiday cottage. Plus, our customer service team is always on hand to help.

    • Mr Spencer - Verified booking

Just had a lovely week at Pitt Cottage, perfect location to explore the area and relax. The two nearby pubs are excellent, the Sunday roast in the Fountain was one of the best I've had. The Masons is a lot more upmarket and the food and beer was superb but they are very different pubs! It's a great spot for walkers with footpaths starting practically outside your door. You don't have to go far for some beautiful views of the countryside. The cottage was pretty well fitted out, some essential cookware was missing and some of it was very tired. The downstairs bathroom was incredibly small and I'd imagine those on the larger side would struggle to get in. The sliding door was stuck but I quite liked the loo with a view! The beams are incredibly LOW, anyone over 5' 8" will hit their head during the week, possibly seven times. As mentioned before it's a bit skimpy on loo roll and dishwasher tablets, no replacement bin bags or washing powder. The parking (described as ample and down the lane) is not great. It's on the main road through Branscombe and it's tight. I expected to find my car scraped every morning but thankfully it wasn't. Overall we had a very relaxing time, visited some lovely places and thoroughly enjoyed our week.

A lovely family home with plenty of space. Equipped with everything you would require on a family break. We took food but if you require a supermarket, the nearest one is Seaton about a 10 minute drive away. There is a lovely pub called The Masons Arms but you need to book well in advance if you require a table inside. Outside tables are issued on a first come basis, and there is outdoor heaters if you think you may get cold. We did eat outside and the food and service was good. Would recommend. The only downside to staying at Hamilton House is the parking. You have to park outside the property in quite a small road and the House next door is rented out, so if 2 cars need to park, it would be very tight. Luckily for us the house was not occupied. The house is just a 10 minute walk to the pebble beach which has a café and tables to sit at. There are also lovely walks to take from here along the coastal path. From Branscombe you can easily drive to Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Seaton. If you go to Seaton there is the lovely tram ride to take, which if the weather is good, is worth to do. We had mixed weather, but still managed to enjoy our stay.

What an absolute gem! Set in the most idyllic village on a quiet road with the sound of nothing but nature all around, I was blown away with the pure charm and character this little cottage had to offer. From the moment I opened the pretty garden gate and walked up to the thatched porch I was in awe of its beauty. I am not sure what the age of the cottage is but it really is a special place, with low beamed ceilings, a large but cosy inglenook fireplace and wobbly floors upstairs, it is the most charming place I have ever stayed. I felt I was in a Jane Austen novel all weekend :) Just LOVED IT! Branscombe is a wonderful village with lots of lovely walks right on the doorstep so it's perfect for you and your furry friend. The cottage has been thoughtfully designed and decorated with beautiful artworks and charming vintage pieces in every room. It is a wonderful relaxing place to be with every comfort provided. After long days out walking and exploring, it was a real joy to indulge in a hot bath and cosy up in front of the log burner with a good book. I cannot wait to return!

The info to get the key said to the left, but to the left the row of cottages carried on. So you have to walk to the end of the cottages turn right up an alley to the cottage then the key is in an outside summer house. Not good. Had issues with the wifi, I saw the log ons in a folder, but they were old ones, also router was turned off. The TV had no sound, I managed to get in touch with the owner who didn't want to know. Told me to go and see you In Beer, we had just come back from there. Then said go to the beach you'll get a signal, we couldn't. I asked him to call you, but he wouldn't. I managed to get in touch with the office who then had to get the owner to call me on the landline, and tell me how to reset the TV. Not my forte, but I managed to do it. Also I have never been to a property where no milk had been left, only two sticks. As the shops are 2/3 miles away we didn't want to have to go out after we had just arrived. I asked in the pub and they gave me some milk. We would not go to Branscombe again.
