About this property

Harbour Hideaway is a light and airy reverse-level house in the conservation area of East Looe, hidden up a passageway and just 50 metres from the harbour and a two minutes walk from East Looe beach, with wonderful harbour views from the balcony, living area and double bedroom. With panoramic views of the river, characterful slate rooftops and over to West Looe, Harbour Hideaway is situated on historic Quay Street at the heart of bustling Looe, with many restaurants, pubs, chip shops, the fish market and boat trips within easy reach. Well-suited for a family or group of friends, this superb property dates back over 100 years and retains some of its original features while having had a contemporary makeover in teal and mustard hues. Light and airy, with a quality finish, you will be welcomed by an original staircase leading to the upper two floors. On the ground floor is a luxurious king-size bedroom with bedside tables holding touch-dimmable bedside lamps with USB charging points, dressing table with mirror and lighting, sliding mirrored wardrobes along with a chair where you can relax in front of the view down the passageway of the houses and trees of West Looe above the fishermen’s sheds. A utility area with concealed washer/dryer separates this room from the main bathroom where you can prepare for the day ahead, home to a WC, an ample walk-in shower and a vanity unit with plenty of space for hanging towels. Climbing the stairs, the top of the first staircase hosts a spacious landing which opens onto a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and a bijou toilet with sink and mirrored bathroom cabinet. The twin bedroom has a side view, with plush twin beds, an original fireplace and bedside drawers, as well as with space to unpack your bags and hang your clothes before settling in to rest your eyes. Moving through the property, the double bedroom has a pretty view of the harbour and West Looe down the passageway, along with wardrobe so you can unpack your belongings, bedside tables with USB charging lamps and a gorgeous driftwood mirror. Making your way to the second floor, the staircase curves up to the magnificent, open-plan living space with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area and boasts stylish teal, mustard and grey accents and a beautiful oak floor. Four windows and patio doors in the space, each offer a different view and allow an abundance of natural of light, whatever the weather. Leading off the living area is a balcony where you can sit and admire the wonderful views, watching the boats going in and out, looking over the original slate rooftops and towards West Looe, maybe while even enjoying a drink or cream tea. Settle down to enjoy an evening in front of the 43" TV, perfect for indulging in your favourite Netflix and Amazon shows while sinking into either the four-seater or two-seater sofas. A charming family dining table is situated next to the window with bench seating either side and accent velvet chairs at each end to enjoy the views over the harbour; gather your group to enjoy a tasty home-cooked meal, or dip into the ottoman which contains a selection of games to enjoy. The contemporary kitchen boasts an immaculate light grey overtone with stunning teal tiles and state-of-the-art appliances including a Smeg oven and hob, microwave and coffee machine, perfect for preparing those appetising meals before loading up the slimline dishwasher and settling down to enjoy a cosy evening in with a bottle of wine from your built-in wine rack. Everything within walking distance. Cottage has been tastefully decorated. We had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Shame no welcome hamper, have stayed in many cottages and always a little something left, just a nice added touch? Am sure anyone would enjoy their stay in Harbour hideaway, in delightful Looe.
