About this property

By-Sea is a traditional cottage situated in the heart of Marazion with breath-taking views to the castle topped island of St Michael's Mount. Located just a short walk from a glorious stretch of golden sand, By Sea is positioned beside the road amidst a row of pretty terrace cottages. By-Sea caters well for families with plenty of extras including Sky TV, iPod docking station, wireless broadband, off-road parking for two cars, two TVs, and a wide selection of books, games and DVDs. Enter into your new home-from-home to find a welcoming living/dining room where you can unwind in front of the crackling woodburning stove after a day of exploring. Behind this is a well-equipped galley kitchen, with everything you could need to rustle up hearty meals that the whole family can enjoy around the table. On sunny days, step out into the sun-trapped and sheltered, steep terrace garden (children to be supervised) at the rear which is well-equipped for relaxation and alfresco dining; a memorable setting with the sound of the nearby crashing waves. When the sky darkens, wash off the day in either the ground-floor bathroom or travel upstairs to the sleek shower room before retiring to one of three bedrooms. Sea views across Mount's Bay towards the harbour at Penzance can be admired from the double and single bedroom with a further double at the back of the house. During the day, time can be spent browsing the art galleries and gift shops in Marazion before stopping for some refreshment at the old inns, cafes or restaurants located within moments. Be sure to head across, either by boat or by foot, to St Michael’s Mount to explore the medieval castle and the sub-tropical gardens housed there. The 3 mile level walk to the historic market town of Penzance along the coastal footpath will reveal stunning scenery and the spectacle of windsurfers, dinghies and kite-surfers skimming over the waves. Marazion is an excellent base for exploring the far west with the white sandy beaches at Porthcurno, Sennen and Praa Sands, the picturesque seaside towns and villages of St Ives and Mousehole and the landmark attractions at Land's End and The Minack Theatre are all easily accessible by car. Make unforgettable memories whatever time of year at By-Sea!

St. Michael's Mount, an enchanted castle and island fortification, can be accessed from the town of Marazion. With its expansive sandy beaches and favourable winds for water sports like windsurfing, paddleboarding, kitesurfing, and sailing, this holiday destination is perfect for families. Marazion, a historic market town, is ideally located on Mount's Bay with breath-taking views of the Lizard peninsula and Land's End. Find a wide array of antique stores, art galleries, quaint bars, and top-notch eateries in this charming old district.

The cottage was comfortable and clean with nothing left to chance. The owner was very attentive in his communication with us and would like to thank him for allowing us to stay in his lovely cottage.

  • Roy

Furnished to a high standard and a lovely terraced garden with outdoor seating. Off road parking area.

  • Alan

The owner left wine, biscuits and everything you need settle in. Just watch those doorways if you’re over 5’6”! Apart from that we found the cottage really comfortable and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
