Polruan is an historic village famous for its boat building heritage. Perfectly positioned on the Fowey river estuary, which is a thriving centre for fishing, seafaring, shipbuilding and agriculture. The villages remoteness gives the area an unspoilt charm with its narrow streets better suited to horse and cart then modern day cars, flights of slate steps twist between the houses. There are two village pubs and a passenger ferry that takes you across to neighbouring town of Fowey. Further afield there are plenty of places to explore, why not visit the tall ships at Charlestown, take the brewery tour in St Austell or visit the Eden project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Visit Lanhydrock House or take the dog for a run at the trials at Cardinham Woods near Bodmin. This spacious cottage is spread over three levels with two main staircases and one small set of stairs. Enter the cottage and climb three steps to the middle floor. Here you will find a twin room (accessed via a small set of stairs) with stunning views across the River Fowey. Along the hallway is a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. This hallway also leads through to the shower room with corner shower and WC. At the far end of this hallway there is a staircase which leads up to one of the double bedrooms with beautiful river views. At the other end of the hallway, heading up the larger of the three staircases, you will find the master double bedroom with panoramic views and an en suite bathroom with handheld shower over bath and WC. Heading downstairs to the lower floor there is a kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The dining area is at the end of the room, the table can comfortably seat six, with views over the river and a patio door leading out to the garden. Heading back through to the lounge with two large sofas, wood burner, TV and DVD. You can't miss the stunning views from the sliding patio doors which lead out to the patio. Heading outside from the lounge and kitchen is the stone patio and small garden the perfect spot to watch the world go by on the river. Need to know: 3 Bedrooms 2 doubles and 1 twin. 1 Shower room and 1 en suite bathroom. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Wood burner no logs provided. TV and DVD. Parking available at public car park nearby, 25 for a weekly ticket.. Beach, shops and pubs within walking distance. Polruan is a quaint little village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.. Many of the amenities, ferries and cottages in Polruan are accessed via slopes/ steps some of which can be steep. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.. Due to the location of the cottage there is limited access by car. A luggage drop off point is approx. 50 yards from the cottage. There is no private parking at the cottage, however there is a large pay and display carpark at the top of the village about a 5 8 minute walk away up the hill from the cottage.. No children under 6 due to a low wall at the end of the garden. Children over 6, must be supervised at all times when in the garden area..
