About this property

Nestled in the charming town of Buxton, Derbyshire, is this well-presented town house, Thron Heyes Cottage. Presented to an excellent standard over two floors, Thorn Heyes Cottage is a delightful base for families to explore the Peak District National Park. After a day of rambling, look forward to unwinding in the sitting room, appointed with two large sofas in front of the Smart TV, ideal for catching up on your favourite shows. Carry the conversation into the kitchen/diner, home to a set of grey shaker style units and integrated appliances, allowing those budding chefs to rustle up a hearty feast. Toast to a well-deserved break at the dining table, before preparing to settle down for the night with a quick wash in the shower room. Choose from three neutrally decorated bedrooms, including a king-size with en-suite bathroom and two doubles, with one of the doubles allowing access from just one side. To the outside of this Buxton home is an enclosed courtyard, providing a lovely spot to enjoy a beverage or two. Get to know the local town, where you can find the popular attractions of Buxton Museum & Art Gallery, The Pavillon Gardens and Solomon’s Temple just a short walk away! The town is well-stocked with many convenience stores and welcoming eateries of the Parks Inn, The Hoffman Barn and The Old Sun Inn, along with the Buxton Brewery where you can sample local ales. Those looking to get their steps in can explore the Peak District National Park, where you can enjoy scenic walks, the historic sites of Pilsbury Castle and the Ruin of Errwood Hall, or the fascinating caverns of Blue John, Speedwell and Peak at the popular destination of Castleton. Whilst in the area, be sure to visit Bakewell where you can sample the famous Bakewell Pudding, delve into history at the Bakewell Old House Museum or take a tour of the magnificent Chatsworth House with its elegant interior and mature gardens. However you choose to spend your holiday time, a stay at Thorn Heyes Cottage promises an excellent escape.

The boiling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs, which are always 28 degrees Celsius, originally drew the Romans to the town. The Palladian beauty of today's Buxton was conceived and developed during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, and includes the majestic semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens, and The Opera House. Visitors can still enjoy these spectacular buildings and gardens, as well as the complete programme of the Opera House and annual music and arts events. There is excellent walking nearby, with rocky peaks to the north and pleasant hills and dales to the south, and a variety of charming towns and villages such as Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton, and Edale strewn throughout. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both lovely sites within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. The Peak District is easily accessible from here.
