Bamburgh is a fantastic coastal town, and you can explore the increadible Bamburgh Castle, which towers above the surroundings and allows for brilliant views, before heading down to the beach to take a stroll in the salty air or even try out watersports. A deli and food emporium are available for you to stock up on essentials and try out local produce, and there is a selection of cafes and pubs waiting to supply you with a heart-warming meal. Make a family holiday to remember with a stay at the idyllic Armstrong Cottage No6.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

Literally 5 minute walk from both the castle and the sea. Alnwick and Lindisfarne a comfortable 25 minute drive. Heating VERY efficient; we had to turn it as low as possible in October! Only minor niggle was the lack of a DVD player as advertised however, the TV (Netflix/BBC iPlayer etc) was fine.

The cottage was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space. Could just do with one extra, comfortable chair. The decor is good and gave us the holiday feeling. Close to a magnificent beach and Bamburgh with short drives to other places of interest. Loved our stay and hope to return.

Some light bulbs were out. Stains on a couple of the towels. Parking space at back extremely tight to get in and out of. Lovely location and beds comfortable. We did have a very nice stay. Thank you.
