    Clitheroe Holiday Cottages

Nestled in the Ribble Valley of Lancashire you’ll find Clitheroe, an ancient market town. Visitors often enjoy exploring the nearby Forest of Bowland, which is one of England’s 36 designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Today, the town primarily caters for tourists, but it's been standing since the Saxon period. The 12th-century Norman Castle still towers over the landscape, but it’s believed Clitheroe was in existence for almost 1,000 years before the castle was built. Now home to a museum and 16 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, visitors can lose themselves in history, heritage, and unique flora. Four circular walks wind through the town. After a stroll, it’s worth visiting the award-winning Byrnes Wine Shop, famous for its unusual vintages.

At Snaptrip our selection of holiday cottages in Clitheroe includes options with every luxury you can imagine, from swimming pools to fire pits. We also have cottages that welcome pets and provide excellent disabled facilities. Our cottages are hand-picked for their style, character and comfort.

We offer thousands of properties across the UK, backed by our unbeatable best price guarantee and help from our friendly customer service team. Why not book a break today in beautiful, historic Clitheroe?

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Antony - Verified booking

We visited Skirden View cottage for a home away from home trip with our dog.

We often eye up small cottages that have a modern feel, quiet sites and beautiful views, and this location was just the option we needed. We took full advantage of the hot tub facilities in the good weather, despite there being no covering over the hot tub, it was a beautiful view looking over the fields and the animals past the farm. The amenities and welcome hamper were so well thought out, and most items of household goods in the kitchen/living space were available, especially if you have booked a longer stay. We visited lots of the local pubs, especially the local, The Spread Eagle for a few meals. They were very welcoming, had a great variety of theme nights, good food/drink and dog friendly! If you are looking for somewhere to go for nice walks within a 30 minute drive, Bolton Abbey Ruins and Malham Cove (for any of you Harry Potter fans) were well worth the tough walks - make sure to bring walking boots! We would definitely look to come back to this location again, and thank the hosts for an amazing stay. Thank you!

Really cosy cottage in wonderful location.

Lovely big comfortable super king bed meant we slept like logs! Lots of nice decorative touches throughout. We really enjoyed the location, there are lots of walks in the area and we visited both the Forest of Bowland and Pendle Hill. It rained a lot, but we were expecting that in October. A couple of points for improvement (not intended criticism as we know the property is quite new as a holiday cottage) - it would have been nice to have had a better welcome pack. Most places we have stayed provide fresh milk, butter, bread, jam and wine. These are the things that get you through the first night! Also the plug in air freshener brought on my asthma, so turned it off and did seem to be masking dog smell (downstairs) and cigarettes (upstairs). These are just minor points, the cottage is lovely and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Absolutely fabulous property, without doubt one of the best we have stayed at.

Clearly a lot of thought has been put in by the owners to ensure the comfort of their guests. Fixtures and fittings were outstanding throughout with top quality on display in every room. The little extras such as the extensive welcome pack, fresh flowers and fluffy bathrobes and slippers provided that touch of luxury which was really appreciated. The views from the ceiling to floor doors were amazing constantly changing with the weather. Hot tub was the icing on the cake and a great way to relax at the end of the day. Cottage is in a fantastic, peaceful location but makes a great base with loads of brilliant visitor attractions within half an hour’s drive. Overall we had a tremendous week’s holiday at Skirden View and would have no hesitation coming back - very highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Ribble View, it’s spotlessly clean, comfortable and in a fantastic location.

We watched lambs playing in the field in front of the window, wild deer and hares. The owners had left a very generous welcome pack and fresh flowers on the table. We will definitely be back and have already recommended to others. My only suggestion would be something on the gate to stop smaller dogs being able to squeeze under. I have a cocker spaniel and she managed to get under the gate to say hello to another dog while we were sat in the hot tub so we had a soggy, embarrassing dash in our swimmers across the caravan field to get her. We didn’t want to leave her inside on her own so it did mean we couldn’t fully relax while we were in the hot tub. But such a small detail and didn’t take anything away from our wonderful stay.

      What a beautiful eclectic cottage!

This little beauty fits in perfectly with the wonderful mystical landscape. Beautifully clean and cosy with some welcome treats for us and our dog! The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the log burner was perfect. We took some extra logs but there is ample supplied for one or maybe two nights. We enjoyed some amazing walks nearby and a well earned drink in the welcoming local pubs. No hairdryer at the cottage so if you need one remember to take your own otherwise everything you need is in the cottage. Parking could be tricky in high season but we didn’t have a problem and didn’t want to use our car anyway - too many local walks. An amazing cottage un a wonderful location. I would definitely recommend it to anyone
