Peel Wyke is a quaint cottage with retro charm, offering magnificent views and a prime location within walking distance to Keswick's centre. It provides a quiet setting, ample parking, and a well-equipped kitchen. The property is appreciated for its warmth and affordability, making it suitable for those who value location and cosiness over modern decor.

Several reviews mention cleanliness issues, including a dirty bath, kitchen, and general dust and cobwebs throughout the property. However, not all reviews mention cleanliness as a problem.

The location is consistently praised for its quietness, proximity to Keswick's centre, and easy access to local walks and scenic bus routes. The views are also highly regarded.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. Some guests find the property warm and comfortable, while others criticise the beds and furnishings as uncomfortable and dated.

Facilities are deemed adequate by some, with good heating and laundry facilities, but others report maintenance issues such as a low shower, worn carpets, and a need for renovation.

There is no mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

This holiday bungslow is almost my second home, has I always try to stay at Peel Wyke on my many visits to Keswick. While some people find it a bit dated, that not something that bothers me. I find it, warm, comfortable and clean but if you have very high standards and are wanting five star luxury this may not be for you, Location is excellent, on a quiet residential street, just a ten minute walk from the centre of Keswick. You can park on the road or use the drive which is quite steep. The broadband works well. I strongly recommend this bungalow to anyone who isnt too fussy about decor and doesn't want to spend a fortune on staying somewhere ultra modern.

We had a great week here, loved the bungalow especially the everchanging view from the big window! Easy walks from the door and to the shops. We had some particularly wet days with roads flooded so couldn't do everything we wanted to. We used the buses too which worked well. The only negative is the beds. 4'6" double is too small for a good night's sleep for 2 people, we put the 2 singles together but they creaked and the mattresses were quite thin, also the pillows but old and thin. Update the beds and we'd love to come back!

The cottage may not be to everybody's taste, but it was comfortable, with good views out of the back windows. Within walking distance (5-10mins) of Keswick town centre. Short distance to Derwent Lake. Ideal for location for walking in the lakes.
