"One of the best self catering holidays we have had ( we are in our seventies and my wife has mobility issues). There was a fresh bake waiting for us as well as the luxury Devon custard to enjoy with it. It was very clean, warm and welcoming too with a lovely private garden and easy access everywhere. We were very surprised to see how much had been prepared and thought for to make it a great holiday for us. The location was very good, we were only 10 minutes drive to Haytor Rocks on Dartmoor and to Bovey Tracey. A few more minutes driving and we were in Newton Abbott, Ashburton, Buckfast Abbey and Shaldon Beach. It was easy to do any shopping as M & S and the Coop were minutes away too. Thanks for everything."

"We had a fantastic week at Bardon Lodge, from the moment we walked in we felt relaxed and at home. A beautiful cottage that is of a very high standard, is very clean and has everything you could possibly need and great for the dogs with it's enclosed garden. Set in quiet countryside it's a great location for exploring all of south Devon. If you're not eating out, nearby Newton Abbot has all the major supermarkets (and then there's the dishwasher). The owners, Clare, Chris and Alice couldn't have been more welcoming, they're lovely friendly people. I would definitely recommend Bardon Lodge to anyone and hope to be staying again. Thank you, Brian, Sheila, Sian, Billy and Mia"

"This was the 3rd time I had stayed in the last year. I am a huge fan of this part of Devon and know the area well. Buckfastleigh is very well situated for sightseeing as its on a crossroads so easy to get anywhere. The cottage is beautiful, very comfy & homely and I adore it. My small dog loves it too and there are so many great dog walking places close by.My only critism is that whilst the courtyard garden is dog proof for most dogs its not chihuahua proof due to the slat style fence but I take chicken wire with me to overcome that.I would not hesitate to stay again and highly recommend the cottage to anyone."

"The accommodation was lovely. I was less impressed with the fact that one of the neighbours obviously has a key to the garage and entered the garage whilst we were in to check what was in the bins to put them out!!! I found this a little disturbing and wondered if they had other keys to gain access to the property??? I had already decided that we weren't putting the bins out on Friday morning as we had only arrived on Wednesday night and there seemed little point since there was only paper in the bin, so no point in putting an essentially empty plastic bag out."
