"A roomy, comfortable, beautiful holiday let affording unusual accommodation - converted wing with vaulted ceiling in a house full of history- in amazing grounds. Something for all ages, assuming a love of magnificent country side, including rowing on a lake 200 yards away through the fields. We had a change round in the party, due to work and commitments, and Stable Court happily housed residents of seven months to seventy, enchanting us all. It was light and well heated with the added advantage of a big log burner for cosy evenings. The Bosanquets could not do enough to help us. We bought lovely eggs from them too and, through the excellent local shop found Bromfields Butchers at Gilwern where we purchased bacon, sausage and other goodies. Apart from exploring the wonderful estate, local church and wandering to the Somerset Arms, we visited Raglan Castle- super for all ages- Tintern Abbey, Tintern Parva with wine and lambs, the Old Station at Tintern and Abergavenny. Wernddu vineyard at Pen-y-clawdd is also to be recommended. Some of the party also went clay pigeon shooting -details in the visitors’ book. April 2012."

"S21604 has plenty of space for two people and the layout has been well thought out. It has been tastefully decorated. It is modern but still has a cosy feel. The inside of the cottage was very clean but the outside area could do with some work to make it more attractive - just some flowers would help. The mattress is comfortable but sits below the level of the wooden frame in which it sits. This makes it awkward to get in and out of bed. There is no blind for the bedroom sky light which would be a problem in summer (this has been mentioned in the visitor book several times). The appliances were adequate but the TV was very small and the bathroom lacked an extractor fan or an openable window which meant it steamed up very quickly. The lid for the dishwasher tabs is missing and the lid for the bin keeps falling off."

"A bright, comfortable, well equipped apartment which exceeded our expectations. My only negative comments are:It is close to a road (not a huge problem but they set roadworks outside on our second day, which caused a lot of traffic noise with the lights outside our window). This wasn't the fault of course, but it simply means it is not a perfectly quiet, country setting. The bed in the main bedroom is a Double. The room is easily large enough far any size bed and a King would be better, particularly for tall guests such as me.That is it, on the moaning, though it would be a plus if the place had wi-fi. The mobile signal is very poor in this area and a connection would be most useful these days.Otherwise the place is well equipped, spacious, clean, tasteful and comfortable. We woulkd certainly stay here again"

"Comfortable and we were greeted with fresh flowers, eggs, milk and bread which was a nice touch. However the cottage lacks the basics like internet and phone reception. The television in the lounge is too small and the one in the bedroom was about the same size as our laptop screen. The shower is ok however the screen leaks. The bed is not comfortable. The wooden 'four poster' frame makes getting in and out of the bed awkward. Some information regarding rubbish collection days and local shops in the area would be handy. We stayed for a week (Aug-Sep 17)and so the washing machine was handy however there is no dryer. Would have preferred a dryer to a dish washer or freezer. Overall we enjoyed our stay however it could be better with a few tweaks."

"We were thrilled with the the accommodation. A lot of thought and care had been put into equipping and furnishing the flat . It was spotlessly clean and generously provided for. The small touches, like sachets of washing liquid and dishwasher tablets meant we did not have to rush out and buy extras. The welcome pack was also generous and a bowl of fruit beats a bottle of cheap wine any day.We live in a very rural area in Spain and wanted to be in a small town with access to the local shops etc. So the location was perfect for us. There is early morning noise from traffic and the post vans but we enjoyed feeling part of the town.Lovely local shops and pubs and fabulous countryside in easy walking distance.."
