"The swimming pool was hit with our very small great-grandchildren! Plenty of sitting accommodation in the lounge, which isn't always the case. The bedrooms were spacious and all en-suite, but the kitchen was a bit small, which I was aware of when we booked, and perhaps not as well equipped as it might have been e.g. there was no sieve to strain the fettuccine one night or vegetables, no salad servers, and champagne glasses for our Prosecco would have been nice. Also, I found the saucepans which had round handles high up on each side very difficult to manipulate when full, but perhaps I am being a little pedantic here. The pretty town of Usk was only just a good ten minutes away by car with easy, free parking, where we went for our morning papers with a good Co-op Shop for food. A visit to Rhaglan Castle and a trip on the River Wye from Symonds Yat was enjoyed by us all, and a short walk 400 yards along from the farmhouse was the ancient church of St. Jerome with the best rood screen I have seen. The owners Lyn and Bill were welcoming and very friendly. As a family of four generations we thoroughly enjoyed our week at S21628, which on the whole was very good value for money."

"Although S21621 was beautifully furnished in a style I love. was upset on the welcome or lack of it when we arrived , Were spoken to like we would not understand written instuctions and had to be lectured for far to long even as far as to be told that there was a shower over the bath but could not use the bath it was just a shower over bath. Think I may have noticed the shower and the fact that the bath had no plug even though I think this is a bit misleading to say property has a bath you can't use but did not effect my stay, This was a late booking and was asked if I would mind arriving a little later than normal or given the choice to cancel but did not mind arriving later but on arrival was made to feel we were an inconvenience.obviously As a lot of people in the visitor book spoke of warm welcome can only assume we must have gone on a bad day. would have preferred to be told could not except booking but S21621 suited my purpose for that visit but have no wish to return."

"The bungalow is set in a quiet location just off the main Monmouth/Chepstow road at Tintern with a woodland backdrop where the air you breath is clean and fresh. There are numerous local woodland walks ideal if you like trekking, bear in mind that the local terrain can be steep in places. Tintern Abbey is about a 10 minute walk down the road next to the River Wye which runs through the village. Tintern has with a couple of nice pubs The Anchor and The Rose and Crown (Steak pub) serving a good standard of food. Close by are shops selling reasonably priced souveneirs and one where milk and bread can be purchased. If the weather is sunny and warm the River Wye glistens, the local scenery is beautiful at any time. Nearby are Chepstow Castle and Raglan Castle both well worth a visit as is the fascinating Littledean Jail an 18th century prison at Liitledean (Crime artifacts and pop memorabilia) If you want a quiet relaxing hoilday this is the ideal place and location."

"Whilst the location is lovely with panoramic views and easy access to points of interest we found this apartment was average compared to other cottages we have stayed in, possibly due to personal taste. The art deco refurbishment although done well was not to our taste and we found the seating uncomfortable, possibly due to the age and wear. We were told we could not use the bath (no plug) due to the macerator toilet system but the shower was very difficult to adjust using just the bathtaps - either too hot or too cold. We were also advised that the yale lock did not work but on one occasion we found ourselves locked in and the owner had to use a key to unlock the door from the outside! Apparently the yale has a double locking system and we had inadvertently turned the key in the lock the wrong way! There is no other access from the apartment only through the owner's access which is locked from his side or through the window. The yale lock needs replacing."

"Enjoyed a great weekend at S80716 catching up with the family - six adults and two young children. The accommodation is first class, beautiful house with a large garden ideal for children to let off steam with nice garden furniture for adults to sit and make conversation. The table tennis table is great, a fun way to relax. Kitchen facilities are good but would benefit from a tin opener - we ended up going door to door down the road asking the neighbours!!There are lots of places to visit in the area and we spent Saturday in the Forest of Dean. I would definitely book this property again if we decided to have a family get together in this area and would visit Monmouth again without the grandchildren to spend more time looking round the town."
