"S25826 is most definitely home from home. You can literally turn up with your bag of clothes and start enjoying your holiday straight away. The kitchen is very well equipped and with a local shop just down the road (supermarkets are a short distance away) you can very quickly get settled in. The view is incredible in the daytime and in the dark, leaving you feeling remotely tucked away but the reality is everything you need is close by and the main roads to anywhere just a few minutes away. Although this is described as a cottage you need not worry about low ceilings and claustrophobic rooms. This property has very generous living and sleeping areas with higher ceilings too but without losing any of it's cottagey charm. The garden is beautiful and I would imagine it is a real treat in the summer. The dog run and kennel was very handy too. We considered taking up squatters rights and staying for ever. There isn't a single reason I can think of for not going back to S25826, although I imagine it will be very popular and difficult to get a slot very soon!!!"

"The location cannot be faulted and the hosts were very friendly and helpful; the views were stunning and a variety of bird life visited the garden. The cottage was peaceful and quiet and the lights of Abergavenny in the distance gave it a fairytale appeal. The water system for the shower and the bath was quirky but one quickly adapted. The only slight drawback was the lack of secondary heating for the conservatory/dining room. It took a while for the heat from the lounge to permeate in the morning and in the evenings leaving the door open made one area of the lounge cold; a situation easily fixed with a fan heater at certain times. Overall, we much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. We will certainly be back in the future to use it as a base for visiting/entertaining our daughter and her family in Cardiff, which is only an hour away. Poor weather prevented us from doing much walking but did try the old railway line and a walk round keepers pond. The Big Pit Museum at Blaenavon was well worth the visit."

"Although S21621 was beautifully furnished in a style I love. was upset on the welcome or lack of it when we arrived , Were spoken to like we would not understand written instuctions and had to be lectured for far to long even as far as to be told that there was a shower over the bath but could not use the bath it was just a shower over bath. Think I may have noticed the shower and the fact that the bath had no plug even though I think this is a bit misleading to say property has a bath you can't use but did not effect my stay, This was a late booking and was asked if I would mind arriving a little later than normal or given the choice to cancel but did not mind arriving later but on arrival was made to feel we were an inconvenience.obviously As a lot of people in the visitor book spoke of warm welcome can only assume we must have gone on a bad day. would have preferred to be told could not except booking but S21621 suited my purpose for that visit but have no wish to return."

"Whilst the location is lovely with panoramic views and easy access to points of interest we found this apartment was average compared to other cottages we have stayed in, possibly due to personal taste. The art deco refurbishment although done well was not to our taste and we found the seating uncomfortable, possibly due to the age and wear. We were told we could not use the bath (no plug) due to the macerator toilet system but the shower was very difficult to adjust using just the bathtaps - either too hot or too cold. We were also advised that the yale lock did not work but on one occasion we found ourselves locked in and the owner had to use a key to unlock the door from the outside! Apparently the yale has a double locking system and we had inadvertently turned the key in the lock the wrong way! There is no other access from the apartment only through the owner's access which is locked from his side or through the window. The yale lock needs replacing."

"The views from the cottage are stunning especially from the conservatory/dining room. Beds were very comfortable and the welsh cakes on arrival were a lovely treat. It was very handy having two bathrooms with young children and the garden was good fun to explore, we even had some apples from the tree. The cottage is about two miles from the nearest shop or pub so is not really easily walkable as its down quite a steep narrow road. The walk up the mountain along the path by the cottage was enjoyable though, and certainly gave the children a good taste of tree roots and sheep up close! Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to light the wood burners in the living room or bedroom but the cottage was still very homely in the evenings."
