"We booked S21606 as it quoted the cottage was all on one level. Having a disabled and partially blind wife - this info was important to us. The cottage was in fact on several different levels. There is a huge step from the uneven uphill road to actually get into the cottage then more little steps inside which leads to different rooms. Not being able to see and not too good on her feet my wife did trip trying to get over these. There were covers covering the furniture. One was covered with bits and dog hair. Their was no heating on and the thermostat didn't work. We found out that it was because it was controlled by the owner and we had to ask him if he could put it on because being a rainy and cold may day it was freezing in the cottage. Our 6 year old soon got a chill and was unwell for most of our stay. The paths around the cottage and leading down to the farm are covered in potholes and very uneven. Not at all suitable for disabled people. My daughter did enjoy the pool and horse riding which cost £17.50 for half an hour. It could be a smashing little place if it was done up a little."

"We enjoyed our holiday here, especially the hot tub. The bungalow is well positioned for walks into Monmouth, which is a lovely town, and there is a Lidl just around the corner. We would visit S21622 again but the following need attention to bring it back to expected condition. The accommodation is two thirds of a detached bungalow which is not strictly apparent from the description. Access to the accommodation is through french windows directly into the lounge. The patio furniture pictured at the front of the property is rotten and should be replaced immediately as it would be dangerous to use. The mattresses on all the beds all need replacing as they slope to the side and you can feel the springs. The shower tray does not drain quickly enough to use the shower as you would normally and has to be switched off at intervals to allow the tray to drain before it overflows onto the floor. The property needs repainting both internally and externally to bring it back up to scratch. The drive is very steep and the angle caused my car to ground so it may be better to park on the road."

"The Brecon Beacons area and Abergavenny were a great place to have a holiday with lots and lots to do. We also rented Granary Cottage for our daughter and family. Both cottages were very tired with clearly very second-hand uncomfortable settees all covered up with throws. Although it was early in the season both properties would benefit from a thorough clean and total redecoration. In Cowshed there was no grill pan handle and the oven door would not close in Granary. These faults were reported to the owner on the first day, but nothing was done about them. We discovered during the week that the prices paid were very high in comparison to other similar local properties. In Granary there was a broken metal carpet strip which 2 of our party injured their feet on.The pool and hot-tub however was good although the changing rooms and pool surround were also very scruffy and dirty. Our grandchildren loved the animals and collecting the eggs."

"Enjoyed a five night break, talk about the wow factor my husband was so impressed as it had taken a bit of convincing, the cottage was beautiful hot tub wonderful and the garden was so private not overlooked at all. Too many extra little things to list but right down to tin foil air freshener soap in bathrooms plenty of towels for hot tub just the little things, I always take my own frying pans but didn't need to use these as loads of saucepans and fry pans all perfectly clean.Only two of us so didn't use the upstairs but it was lovely up their too and all looked so lovely and clean.Just wish we lived a bit closer that 250 miles we would deffinately visit often.Liddl walking distance as was the town.Only one little gripe was the slope on the run you parked car in was not really sure if that was where you park as someone in the cottage next door it's a massive slope so maybe some advise on parking would be an idea"

"We had a lovely stay there. The cottage was fine you could find everything you needed and the location was in a quiet and beautiful area with some lovely routes, you can attemp to climb up the Squirrid for example. You have lots of different alternatives in a short drive distance, We would have needed much more than a week to have time to explore as much as we wanted. We highly recommend Big Pit, Tintern Abby and Randal Castle, the route with the waterfalls near Penderyn, where you can walk behind one of them.About the farm, we really enjoyed feeding the pigs, they were so friendly and we loved picking up the eggs. We couldn't enjoy the pool as it was close but the Hot Tub was fantastic. We spent lots of time in the play room as well. The owners were very friendly and helpful, they give you freedom but are there if you need something. We will definitely go back! Thanks ;) Jorge and Isabel"
