Once famous for its iron and tinplate works, it’s now well known in the world of sport for its successful rugby teams. Llanelli also leaves visitors in easy reach of the Gower Peninsula. The Millenium Coastal Path can be picked up just outside of the town, allowing visitors to explore this gorgeous coast. Generally, there is lots of walking to enjoy here, and plenty of opportunities to get outside and explore the great outdoors.

"We all loved the cottage, the decoration, the homely feel of the place was second to none. We walked the 5 minutes to the beach at least twice a day (very flat rout and easy to find, perfect for running and biking) - the kids loved finding crabs under the rocks :) and our dog loved every minute of it.The cottage is close to a few supermarkets, a train station, restaurants, lots of takeaways and bakeries etc. Great local amenities. We loved the little folder the owners left out with suggestions on where to eat and where to go.We just weren't too keen on the surrounding estate. There was a park over the road but every time we walked past it there were groups of teenagers drinking/smoking so we walked past and went to the one next to the beach, which is lovely. We were also unfortunate enough to go during the plague of flies! Hundreds of the things were in the house. We made use of the can of fly spray left under the sink and the next door neighbours gave us some fly strips which were full after a few hours :(. Not the owner's fault I know but worth a mention. The problem was mentioned loads of times on the local radio. All in all, we had a great holiday and the cottage and the garden was gorgeous."

"Highly recommended so peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of every day life! We had a lovely stay! This lodge is set in absolutely stunning surroundings overlooking the private lake with lots of wildlife and carp! The hot tub was fantastic, the only issue (if there was 4 people) is it is a replacement tub that only seats 3 people not 4 as stated on the description, this was fine for us as there was only 2 of us! There is a washing machine at the lodge which is great but no way of drying clothes or towels other than a clothes airer, when it was raining this wasn’t ideal! Only one bath towel each and one hand towel to share was provided so make sure you take plenty of towels for the spa! There’s a walled BBQ for the use of disposable BBQ’s which is great (remember matches) The Lodge kitchen had everything we needed! The gallery bedroom was extremely warm but a very large fan is provided albeit a bit noisy! We were able to star gaze through the massive windows! We will hopefully revisit one day and my hubby will remember to take his fishing rods!"

"Our holiday at Anchor Cottage was enhanced by the fact that the weather was warm & sunny and we were able to walk to the harbour most evenings. We enjoyed sitting and watching the new lifeboat station being built. The train station was within easy walking distance so we went to Carmarthen & Tenby by train which saved all the problems of parking and the route takes you along the coast so is a lovely ride. We also went to Llanelli but used the bus ( cannot use English bus pass) but was not expensive. The cottage itself is very well equipped and comfortable and in a peaceful location. One little problem the parking is really only for one car but there is a lot of parking spaces so we didn’t find it a problem having 2 cars. If we’re ever coming to this part of Wales again it would be our first choice and we would certainly recommend it as comfortable home from home."

"lovely big apartment in great location.lovely views and walks.lack of information let it down.we were not told there was an allocated parking space and had warnings stuck on the car.only when i texted her did the owner mention it.we couldnt get the dishwasher to work (didnt appear to have water going in despite tap being turned on)rang the owner about that but she didnt get back to me.the cooker wouldnt turn off when we used it (we only cooked ready meals as the cooker was quite dirty)and had to turn it off at the wall and the fridge was on 24/7 with a huge block of ice in the back (that was my only real concern due to the risk of overheating)probably the appliances had bee in from new and were ready for replacement.also on the 3rd floor and no lifts.if these issues were addressed it would be as near perfect as you could get it."

"Communication before our stay was excellent, we were met at the property by Nick, down to earth, easy going guy. The site is a fishery and wedding venue so Nick is always on hand if you need anything. The lodge is stunning, modern and intimate, the beds are very, very comfortable but what really makes it is the breath-taking location... There are ducks, geese and other wildlife around the lake, so sitting in the hot tub at sunset watching the ducks and listing to the deafening silence was a treat.. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped, Nick even supplied a disposable bbq.The only piece of advice I'd give, and this isn't a criticism, is if you're bothered by the sunlight waking you up, take a sleep mask if you use the mezzanine bedroom. I really hope we get the chance to have a return visit fairly soon"
