What our customers say about their holidays

Beach Hut No.2 is a great holiday cottage/beach hut in an absolutely fantastic location with bifold doors facing out onto the beach, and with the added benefit of its own parking space right outside the front of the property, with off road parking. The property is spotlessly clean throughout with everything you could wish for during your stay, with the added bonus of welcome tea/coffee/milk/sugar sachets to get your holiday off to a great start. The accommodation is centrally located within Shaldon making it accessible to the beach, coastal walks, local shops and restaurants, with the ferry close by to take you across to enjoy the delights of Teignmouth. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend staycation for my birthday in February, and we were very lucky with the weather being dry and mild for us to enjoy walks along the beach. We were spoilt for choice with all the lovely restaurants to choose from, and can recommend The Ness for a great steak and the London Inn for a Sunday roast and a great atmosphere. We will definitely come back again and recommend you give it a try, it’s bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside, and the king size bed is very comfy.

This is a lovely little property tucked away by the back beach.

Nestled between two pubs, you’d think it would be noisy but it’s not. The court yard can be a sun trap but watch out for the seagulls… Things were a little dusty and a slight feeling of damp on arrival but this was soon addressed. We did note that there were no recycle bins available. The neighbour told us that despite the owners best efforts they keep being taken. Might be worth storing them in the back? A guide might help for things like bin days (Wednesday). Parking within Teignbridge car parks has increased to £40 a week and it increases in April. It is also not valid for on street parking which is run by the county council. This is something to be aware of. Ring Go operate the parking meters. The back beach is lovely and the sea is a lot calmer, it is also where dogs can go, so if you’re not a fan beware. Finally, beware of seagulls, they can be aggressive and they are not adverse to stealing your food whilst it’s travel to your mouth. They love ice cream, sandwiches and chips. Luckily we were not caught out but saw this going on.

As a returning guest to Quayside.

I think the improvements are brilliant. A fairly decent sized tv and wifi. I would 100% recommend this property to anyone. The new front door is beautiful, however, a blind or net curtain would make the cottage feel a bit more private, particularly when it gets dark. This is constructive NOT criticism, but the seating could be more accommodating, The cottage has sleeping for 4 people. however, if there were 4 adults then the current seating would be ridiculous. Perhaps consider an L shaped sofa? A food caddy would be very helpful - all the neighbours have one. A few more bits of info would also be helpful - there were instructions for the kettle and toaster but not the washing machine! We had a lovely time at the cottage and would like to say a big thank you to the lady/man in charge of change over for doing a brilliant job on check in day. This is a nice cottage in a stunning location - Book It!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shaldon beach hut 2! We visit Shaldon every year as my partner's family are from there and always look forward to our stay at the beach hut. Previously stayed in beach hut 1 and I must say the beach hut 2 was equally amazing! We hope to stay again in the future :) Fantastic location, with beautiful surroundings. Numerous things to do from a visit to the beach, a trip to Shaldon zoo or a walk around the botanical gardens. A lovely family getaway and perfect for couples too. Such a wonderful experience staying at the beach hut! It's stocked with everything you require, from cooking utensils, crockery, picnic equipment, extra towels and clean linen; to plenty of information about the accommodation, eating out and trips.

Extremely clean and well equipped chalet in a fantastic location - beach and sea on the doorstep! The helpful owner called to offer any advice needed and to make sure we were settled in. Clipper cafe next door and we had two evening meals there although we could easily have cooked in the chalet as all equipment was available to do so. Great to have a parking space right by the chalet and to be able to unload straight through the door into the chalet. The patio area was lovely to sit out in with table, chairs, cushions and umbrella -the weather was warm and sunny so we made the most of the outside area. A great chalet near to all amenities in Shaldon, beach, sea, cafes, pubs and ferry to Teignmouth. Wonderful two night break - thank you.
