What our customers say about their holidays

    • Michelle - Verified booking

We loved our week’s stay at Caesamson.

Everything was as described, instructions to get to the property were clear and the key was in the key safe as stated. We loved the perfect peace and quiet there, the warmth of the wood burner when it was very cold outside and in fact the comfort and warmth of the entire house. The quality of the fittings and fixtures, the plentiful kitchen equipment and the added extras that the owners had left all added to making our stay extremely comfortable. Shopping was easy as the village has a good supermarket which sells everything you need, as well as the fish and chip shop which was handy for our last night there. Also handy were the bigger supermarkets in Newtown, a bit further away. We walked by the river there, a flat easy walk with good underfoot surfaces. Ian, one of the owners, came to see that all was ok with us, such a nice guy, we enjoyed meeting him. One minor point; we didn’t particularly enjoy the baths in the house as we are used to showers at home now in our old age! But we made use of the shower in the utility room which although not a perfect solution, helped us. A downstairs toilet was an added benefit. The local scenery is a sight for sore eyes, it’s very beautiful with the rolling hills and sheep, in fact we’ve never seen so many sheep! We would recommend Caesamson particularly to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet but actually we would wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone! We are very pleased we found it on Sykes website.

      OUTSTANDING!

Absolutely stunning, the pictures don't do it justice, the views are incredible, and the house has such a great feel about it! Exceptionally clean & a high standard of facilities throughout. Obviously a great deal of thought goes into this property by the owners, we have stayed in several holiday cottages all of which have been a very good experience , but Caesamson really is exceptional! It's not just the house and it's location, but also the welcome email with clear consice useful & helpful information & instructions, along with all the 'little touches' which we won't spoil by giving away on here, suffice to say thank you, they really do make a difference. The bottle of wine cookies & milk were very much appreciated, a cuppa after a long journey went down very well as we took in that view! A visit from Ian on Sunday was equally as welcome and it was a pleasure to meet him! We cannot recommend this property enough, thank you Ian & Anna for a fantastic week and we will definitely be returning!

Kooky cottage was such a great find!

We stayed for 4 nights beginning of this month (August) and didn't want to leave. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable with a whole lot of character. Owner has thought about, and supplied everything you could need for your stay. We found the cottage very clean and all linens, towels etc clean and fresh. Lovely decor also! Added bonus of a sofa bed which was handy too. Table and seating available to sit outside also, we didn't use them but was good to know we had the option. The stairs are steep, of varying sizes, and ceiling above them is low but with time and care they're fine to navigate!...this just adds to the character and charm though, it is a 1850s property! Great location very quiet street, easy to walk into the centre of Brecon. Street parking available in front of property, not a lot of room but we had no issues thankfully. We really enjoyed our time here and would love to visit again. Will recommend to friends and family!

Absolutely fantastic place, gorgeous panoramic views from the top of the hill and amazing views from the lodge and hot tub.

Welcoming, helpful owners, activities such as quad tracking, paint balling and archery to enjoy and keep the family entertained, great landscapes to explore, clean, fully equipped and beautifully furnished to a high standard. Shops, supermarkets and restaurants easily accessible by car, along with lots of attractions to visit close by. We absolutely loved our stay! We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, kids enjoyed playing football with the owners dog Skye and exploring the landscapes, we visited the British Ironworks Centre, Powys castle and Attingham Park, all worth a visit for a lovely day out. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners, the kids had a great time toasting marshmallows on the fire pit and just enjoying their freedom outdoors in a safe and peaceful environment ❤️ Thanks again so much Nicky and Mike! Can’t wait for next time

The location of Caesamson was superb, all on its own with no immediate neighbours, so it was very quiet and peaceful and was ideally placed for our day trips out.

The main pluses of the property for us, apart from it's location, was the fact that it had a reasonable sized TV and a very comfortable, good sized, bed which isn't always the case with a holiday rental. There was also a much appreciated welcome pack left for us. As far as we were concerned, there were two issues that would have been nice to know before making the booking. The first is the fact that although the property is listed as 'dog friendly', dogs are not allowed to go upstairs. This is something that we feel should be mentioned in the listing prior to booking but we only found this out once we had booked and paid our money. The second was the fact that the wi-fi connection is very intermittent and keeps dropping out and sometimes doesn't return until the next day so this is something that should be borne in mind if this is important to you.
