    Leominster Holiday Cottages

Leominster, an idyllic Herefordshire market town, sits right where the River Lugg and River Kenwood meet. It is known for its striking architecture, full of grand Georgian residences and black-beamed Tudor houses. One of the best examples, Grange Court, is open to the public. The town is surrounded by countryside and woodland - perfect for nature lovers and avid walkers. The scenic Riverside walk is a circular route, starting and finishing in the town centre at the Corn Square. It is well-signposted and ideal for first-time visitors.

Leominster enjoys a well-deserved reputation for its thriving antique scene, with dealers eager to introduce you to their treasures at The Antiques Market,Leominster Antiques Centre Minster House and the Second Hand Warehouse & Antiques Centre. Alternatively, indulge in more traditional retail therapy, with a range of independent shops selling everything from books and toys to vinyl and organic skincare.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Andrew - Verified booking

We had the perfect stay at Holmer Farm.

Everything from the location, to the interior was on point. We felt instantly at ease when we arrived with details of how the cottage had been cleaned, leaving is in no doubt that every effort had been made to ensure our experience was not spoilt by the current climate. The Welcome pack was a lovely surprise and added to the care and effort made to ensure you have a lovely break. Luckily we had amazing weather and made use of the lovely outdoor space, our Springer was in her element being able to wonder the field next to the cottage! This ticked every box for us and exceeded our expectations without a doubt. We will be back, not only to the cottage but to the lovely area, we still have much to explore. Little tip from us the Live and let Live pub which is a short drive away is well worth a visit. Absolutely stunning little pub, we didn’t eat but what we saw looked delicious!

A bit of a Tardis, compact but surprisingly spacious inside for a couple.

Comfortably furnished to a high standard we spent a very pleasant week there in September. It is ideally placed to tour Herefordshire and Shropshire and the numerous National Trust properties there. Yarpole itself is a small, friendly community with the advantage of a small community store for last minute essentials and associated cafe that had excellent cakes. The local pub, just over the road, was unfortunately closed during our stay due to illness so we couldn't try that out. The host was perfect, he gave us a quick tour on our arrival and was helpful when we had a small issue (of our own making). There is limited outside space, which didn't worry us, the parking is directly outside the cottage and helped me practice my parallel parking, but did easily take my fairly large SUV. We would definitely stay there again if visiting in the area.

We loved the cottage and would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

The décor and presentation is fantastic as was the bedding and towels and there was loads of hot water. The lighting is great as is the huge table. The accommodation is the opposite side of the farmyard to the other farm buildings and is well away from any main road so is really peaceful with views over surrounding fields. There’s plenty of local walking right from the front door and Leominster shops are only a 10 minute drive away with 3 good supermarkets and lots of individual local shops offering quality products. Our only real issues were the lack of drinking glassware and the heating in the downstairs area which steadfastly ignored the thermostat setting and was frequently over 22C despite our attempts to reduce it. The owner was as helpful as possible and is now on the case…. We would definitely return despite this. Recommended.

Great location in a vibrant village.

The accommodation was really comfortable so we were able to settle in very quickly. The owners were very thoughtful and had left us a gift of wine and chocolates. The coffee machine had coffee available to drink. The utensils and crockery were very good. The bedding and towels were excellent quality. The WiFi and TV all worked really well. The village shop and gallery cafe were brilliant and we were able to shop everyday there except Sunday. The cafe was outstanding for the menu but also the friendliness of the locals and voluntary staff. The church itself with its bell tower and the cemetery across the road is well worth a visit. We were able to walk to Croft Castle for a visit. We spent a very pleasant evening in The Bell for a meal and to listen to the folk musicians.

Visitors are well provided for with generous welcoming provisions, from necessities like milk, and in the cupboards, coffee and tea, with additionally treats like wine , crisps and biscuits.

The fabric and furnishings are of very good quality. However, the bedroom in the roof space is the major negative. The ( unnecessarily) large bed takes up the vast majority of the floor space in which head height would allow safe walking, the sloping rafters coming down to allow only very small walls, approximately 2'6" or 75 cms. with very low chests of drawers for clothing fitted almost against those walls. The sloping roof meant difficult access. And the lack of head height meant no proper wardrobe could be accommodated. Practicalities suffered in favour of appearances. A good example was trailing plants in a tiny bathroom when shelf space should have been the priority. Overall, a generously well equipped property but not very practical.
