    • Sandra - Verified booking

Date of stay 18-08-2023 to 25-08-2023 This is an excellent barn conversion into a cosy 1 bedroomed cottage for two people.

The fixtures and fittings are of a high quality, and everything you could need is supplied. Lovely thick bath towels are supplied, so there is no need to bring your own. The shower is perfect and large with good water pressure and stable temperature. The bedroom is compact, but there is a double bed, a good-sized chest of drawers and a hanging rail with 8 coat hangers, and a bedside table on either side of the bed. There is very little space between the bottom of the bed and the wall, we are not large people so not a problem for us. The bed was very comfy. Don't worry if you forget your teabags, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, J-cloth etc... there is some supplied to get you started. Other cleaning products and equipment also supplied. The owner had left milk and biscuits for our arrival very much appreciated thank you. This cottage is in a good position for visiting lots of the local heritage sites and beaches. We need to go back to continue with our adventures in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Robin's Nest is well equipped, clean and comfortable.

It was cold during our stay, but the central heating kept us cosy and there was everything we needed to cook meals in plus information about local pubs, restaurants and shops if we wanted to eat out. Lots of walks, bike rides and tourist information included. One of the walks Alan suggested in the dry valleys of the Wolds was the highlight of our stay and we were blessed with glorious sunshine in November. We did have a bit of difficulty finding Robin's Nest when we arrived, but Alan also said he had asked Sykes to clarify the directions on the listing, but this had not happened. If you approach from Leven it is the first entrance on the RHS after a slight LH bend with a fiingerpost and a layby on the LHS. You don't actually go as far as the first signs for Brandesburton and if you get to the Blue Rose Country Park you have missed it.

This was a beautifully designed property with plenty of space for a family of four.

It was neat, modern and welcoming. The kitchen was well kitted out and the beds were very comfortable. The location is lovely, right by the woods and fields, with the hot tub nicely placed to enjoy the views. The hosts were very helpful and on hand for any enquiries. It was useful to have 2 bathrooms and my only recommendation would be that they need a shower door. The children's bathroom especially flooded the floor and even part of their room with water as there was no barrier or shelving for drainage. It was cold weather but another comment is that an outdoor table would be ideal for summer, so you can sit and eat outside. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend these lodges! Thank you.

We did leave some suggestions which the owner may consider acting upon.

We enjoyed our stay very much and the cottage was ideally situated for Beverley centre. Some observations: The toilet didn't remove everything when flushed and had to be activated twice for a satisfactory result. The radiator in the bathroom didn't heat up like the other radiators in the house and consequently the bathroom wasn't as warm as it could have been. We imagine a cleaning company looks after the house as there were a few issues with hairs on the bathroom floor by the waste bin and in other areas. These comments were not written to present a detrimental view of the property and did not appear in the guest book, but simply to highlight minor improvements.

First time visiting this property and all 4 of us were amazed.

We all loved how much space there was in each room both bathrooms were great sizes we cooked 3 out of the 4 nights for 4 people which there was enough space to do so. I met the owner (Rob) who was very nice and showed me how to keep the fire going on the fire heated hot tub, which we used twice. The area it self was great. Great views very quiet very peaceful. Also had what I think were guinea fowl running around the outside the lodge didn't bother us at all they were comical to watch. Overall I highly reccomend this property and we will be booking to come here again next year absolutely brilliant stay
