    Carnforth Holiday Cottages

You may recognise Carnforth from its railway station having been included in the 1945 classic film Brief Encounter, and the footage of this scene can be watched at the Carnforth Station Heritage Centre on repeat for those who love a good romance movie.

Situated at the northeast end of Morecambe Bay, the town is just inland from the west coast, making Carnforth holiday cottages an ideal base for those wishing to explore the rest of the county. Carnforth grew in the 19th century as the railway and local ironworks developed: it was an important thoroughfare to and from the beach and hills. It remains a popular destination for cyclists and walkers as a result and is commutable by boat through the River Keer. Those staying at one of our holiday cottages in Carnforth can browse the local independent shops, attend the local history exhibitions or give hiking, climbing and abseiling a try at nearby Warton Crag.

Every booking made through Snaptrip is protected with our best price guarantee to ensure unbeatable value. You’ll find thousands of properties on the site across the UK including options with fire pits, hot tubs, swimming pools and dog-friendly facilities – all easy to find using feature search filters. What our customers say about their holidays

      Fabulous cottage, fabulous location!

WOW! What a wonderful arrival to Corner Cottage..from the moment we got to the front door, to stepping inside, to exploring the interior, we were blown away..what a fabulous place! It felt like a tardis as we went from room to room, the photographs on the Sykes website do not show just how spacious the cottage is, or how ‘luxurious’ the furnishings feel. The cottage is extremely clean, cosy, and comfortable. The renovations that the owners have done are of a very high standard, and very tasteful. We loved the bathroom...the shower was amazing! Communication from the owner was very good and helpful, and we appreciated the little personal touches we were greeted with..a wonderful ‘hamper’ for us and the dog! The cottage was very easy to locate, was in a perfect spot in the village, very quiet, parking was very easy, has a lovely little enclosed back yard, and just round the corner is an incredible bakery! What a gem!

The property was very clean, a major plus for me with a well equipped kitchen with everything we needed.

Good selection of pans, pyrex, oven trays and a slow cooker alongside the microwave, electric hob and oven. Minor niggles. A silicon pan trivet would have been useful and a washing machine would have been a bonus during our personal current lifestyle. A clear plastic 1/8" sheet or similar behind the bin may stop the unsightly marks on the wall behind and swapping the fridge/freezer door hinges over from right to left would be logical. No bath mat to step on when out of the shower. Duvet was very hot for summer. The traffic on the adjacent road stopped us walking directly from the house and the noise from the road during late evening early morning bothered me but I'm quite sensitive to road noise. The shower trap is constantly being syphoned from a source below leading to smells in the bathroom, we poured water into the trap short term but this is very fixable. Minor niggles aside I'd recommend and return.

We really enjoyed our stay at Corner Cottage.

Ingleton is a good base for visiting the Yorkshire Dales. Ingleton also has the waterfall walk which we advise doing if you can cope with a 4.5 mile walk, steep at times. The Ingleton people were very friendly. Corner Cottage is well equipped with guidebooks which we used for several more good walks such as Ribblehead Viaduct. The Smart TV was good, once I got my head around it. There’s plenty of local dog friendly eating places within walking distance like The Falls Bar and Kitchen, the Wheat-sheaf Inn, Masons Free House and the Marton Arms. We had no problems finding a parking place on Main Street near Corner Cottage. The cottage is very comfortable and we recommend it.

We had a great stay at Corner Cottage.

It was exactly as described and fulfilled our needs completely. The cottage was so cosy and quiet. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water and it was lovely getting out of the shower into a warm bathroom. It was a great location for walking in this part of Yorkshire and Cumbria. The outside tap made it easy to wash our boots etc when we came back from very muddy walks. We were even able to park outside the cottage. This made it so easy to empty and load the car. Our cockapoo Honey loved the cottage too - especially the treats which were left for her. We enjoyed the treats left for us too!!Thank you. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay in Corner Cottage and wouldn't hesitate to stop here again!

Karen kept in touch and sent us an online guide which was fantastic. On arrival there was an issue with a blind - and although it wasn't a problem, Karen very kindly put money behind the bar at the Marton Arms for drinks whilst it was being repaired. The cottage itself is gorgeous - surprisingly spacious and well located in the village, it is extremely cosy (so much so that my usually homesick dog settled immediately) with a lovely garden and well equipped with everything you could possibly need whilst away including a gorgeous welcome pack for humans and dogs! Thank you so much for a fabulous stay.
