About this property

A quaint, period, stone-built cottage settled in the delightful village of Ingleton, nestling on the boundaries of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Lancashire and Cumbria. Corner Cottage is the perfect host for families, couples, or groups of friends, especially those with a love for the outdoors, with each surrounding area enjoying its own distinctive landscape well-worth exploring. Originally built in 1850, Corner Cottage is filled with character throughout, from beamed ceilings, traditional latched doors, to original stone steps and curved walls, its quaint quirks will charm all who visit. Beautifully decorated and furnished throughout, it’s the homely base that you need for your holiday; settle on one of the beautiful leather sofas in the sitting room, warming your toes by the woodburning stove set within a traditional inglenook fireplace and flagged hearth, after a day in the outdoors. Take in the views of the viaduct from the separate dining area as you tuck into a delicious meal, prepared in the fully equipped kitchen, fitted with a host of modern appliances including a retro fridge/freezer. Climb the cottage stairs up to the attractive bedrooms, with luxurious finishing touches such as Egyptian cotton bed linen, pretty artwork on the walls, and ample storage and hanging space. The beautiful master bedroom has an indulgent super-king-size bed, which can also be made up as a twin room with two singles via zip/link features, while the second bedroom is a twin, allowing for flexibility for accommodating different groups. Both bedrooms are served by the stylish, spacious bathroom which has a walk-in, waterfall shower and a freestanding bath, where you can soak away all your aches from a satisfying day of walking. Offering the perfect opportunity to sit outside is the lovely patio area with a barbecue, you can relax and admire the views over the moorlands from here, while your car can be parked easily on the roadside where there is ample space, within 20 yards of the cottage. A short stroll brings you to the village amenities, including local inns, restaurants, a micro bar, takeaway restaurants, independent shops and a small supermarket, as well as a seasonal open air heated swimming pool to enjoy in summer! Further amenities can be found within around ten miles of Corner Cottage in the bustling market towns of Settle and Kirkby Lonsdale, where they have an excellent array of pubs, restaurants and quaint independent shops. Those interested in outdoor pursuits will not be disappointed, as this location has it all; hikers have an impressive array of footpaths through the stunning scenery to explore with the renowned Ingleton Waterfalls walk starting just a stroll away, serious walkers have the famous Three Peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-ghent on their doorstep, whilst cyclists of all abilities, be it road, mountain or sportive have the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway, the Trough of Bowland with Gisburn Forests trails and a network of roads and paths to tackle. Cavers will know of the numerous renowned caves in the area, with White Scar and Ingleborough Caves just along the road, as well as the Yorkshire Dales National Park on the doorstep with charming Dales towns and villages like Hawes, Dent, Grassington and Skipton being wonderful places to discover. The Trough of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a stone’s throw away, while the Settle-Carlisle Railway Stations provide an iconic rail trip, travelling through the spectacular limestone scenery and over the Ribblehead Viaduct in the heart of the Three Peaks countryside. Spend a day on the coast at Morecambe Bay, or travel up to the stunning Lake District for even more adventure, both being around 20 miles away. the village us lovely with 3 pubs, several cafes and quirky shops. the proximity to Ingleton falls, which are spectacular is a bonus. lovely welcome pack which was appreciated. only minor negative is the back garden which has a low wall so we had to ensure our dog was properly supervised but really wasn't a big issue. we will definitely be returning

Perhaps a blind or curtain for the main door would be helpful for more privacy from those walking down the road to the Pottery.
