    Moelfre Holiday Cottages

Moelfre is a picturesque historic fishing village on the northeast coast of the Isle of Anglesey in Wales. The harbour may not be as busy with fishing boats as it once was, but it is still a stunning place to explore and soak up the coastal atmosphere. If you are interested in history, you can also visit the ancient ruins of Iron Age sites, including the remains of six hut groups as well as the 12th-century ruin of Capel Lligwy.

The best way to enjoy the charm and beauty of Wales is to stay in an equally lovely holiday cottage. We have cosy cabins with secluded hot tubs and crackling log fires, as well as bright, spacious barn conversations for big groups. Looking for a family holiday? Our open-plan farmhouses are great for families, with many of them also being dog-friendly properties. Travellers seeking extra privacy can choose from cottages with pretty, private gardens, and keen walkers can stay in properties that sit right on the edge of popular walking routes.

Here at Snaptrip, we list thousands of UK holiday cottages which are all backed by our best price guarantee. We also have search filters and our friendly customer service team to help you find the perfect property to suit your needs. What our customers say about their holidays

We found Isfryn to be a very spacious and warm house.

The twin bedroom has some shelving for clothing but there is nowhere to hang clothes and since it is a smallish room perhaps it is more suitable for children. Oddly the only bedroom with a mirror is the en-suite room. The house is in a lovely, secluded position with views of the bay. Many pleasant walks can be made from the door. Access to the property for the last 200 Ms is by a rough track but taken slowly driving an Octavia and a Polo we never had problems. Previous reviewers mention the absence of an adequate vacuum. The issue is now resolved with a new ‘Henry’. We accept that the quiet location will limit mobile phone signals but our main gripe was a very intermittent Wi-Fi connection. It seems to be a BT hub via a landline but even so for say 70% of the time we needed Wifi the hub was not connected. Perhaps we were unlucky since no one else has mentioned this as a problem in reviews or the visitor’s book. Bins collection is fortnightly. We put both outside the gate and they were emptied on Thursday 6th October. We experienced some minor cleaning issues and were I the owner I would be disheartened by the many carpet stains to what look like newish carpets. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and the real test is would we go again – the answer is ‘yes we would happily return’.

Just had a fabulous week at 80 Breeze Hill.

The house is in a lovely area and is a 2 minute walk from The Breeze Hill pub which we had a meal at (really good) and is a lovely dog friendly pub . The house itself is stunning, has everything you need and is so clean. It is a dog friendly house but you honestly wouldn't know that any other dogs have been because of how well presented it is. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The garden is gorgeous and isn't overlooked at all, it backs onto a stream and some woodland and most days of the week in the morning, we saw red squirrels helping themselves to nuts from the feeder. This was very special and a lovely touch that the owners keep this stocked for that reason. You can literally watch them through the big window in the master bedroom whilst still in bed! Benllech beach is gorgeous and very clean and the sea is so clear. There is a large dog friendly part for the months may- sep and this part is just as nice as the dog restricted part. There are loads of things to do nearby in driving distance. We went to Newborough forest one day which is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. The hot tub is great and very well looked after, we used it every day and is a real luxury. I wouldn't hesitate to book here, it is stunning and we would love to visit again.

This was a beautiful house in a stunning location.

It was comfortable, spacious and we felt at home. There were no issues which detracted from our holiday but some matters we would like the owners to be aware of. Some maintenance points: Considerable leak on the bath tap in the family bathroom. Some loose and missing grout in the tiled floor of the ensuite bathroom. Batteries in the Hive thermostat showing as "red" Dishwasher does not release tablet from the dispenser. Some facility points: No readily accessible hooks for wet coats (necessary given the outdoor nature of the location and Welsh weather!) A coat stand would be a useful addition. Imbalance in crockery and cutlery, for example many glasses and small coffee cups, less full size mugs. Insufficient crockery and cutlery to efficiently use the dishwasher as it was not possible to accumulate dishes in the washer and have enough to use. All of these points are easily resolved and we would not in any way wish to detract from the overall quality of the house and the excellent holiday we had there.

The cottage was warm and comfortable and we had a lovely time with the whole family.

However, I would say that this is not a house for 6 people - it's a house for 4 adults and 2 children! The twin-bedded room was deceptive in the photograph and was very much smaller than we anticipated. There was also nowhere to put clothes apart from a rather wobbly cheap unit of 3 small shelves with canvas cover over the top. We also had a problem opening the key safe as the 4th button of the key code would not work. In the end, after struggling, we managed to open it by pressing all 4 buttons at the same time, but this took two people to open it! It definitely needs replacing. The only other thing that would stop us coming here again was the access road. The instructions said a stony track! They did not say it was a very rough track full of pot-holes and made getting up and down to the cottage difficult, unless you were in a 4x4! We scraped the bottom of our cars on several occasions despite driving carefully and trying to keep one set of wheels on the raised grass bit in the middle!!

Stayed here for a week over Easter and what a beautiful place!

The accommodation was perfect for what we needed, lovely and clean, plenty of space and stocked up! Short walk down to Benllech Beach with plenty of shops, pubs and takeaways on your doorstep. We also took a short drive to Zipworld for our daughters to enjoy the activities there and my older daughter for a Hack at Anglesey Riding Centre. Our favourite Llanddwyn Beach in Newborough Nature Reserve was one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever visited, we only managed to fit in half a day there so would definitely want to go back for the full day. So much to see and do within an hours drive of the accommodation. The hosts were lovely too, little hiccup with the hot water going off but they came over quickly to resolve. Also really understanding when I told them my daughter had damaged a curtain holder… Honestly couldn’t have asked for more! Would recommend this place to anyone and a massive 11/10 for us! Thank you so much, we will most certainly be back!
