    Leominster Holiday Cottages

Leominster, an idyllic Herefordshire market town, sits right where the River Lugg and River Kenwood meet. It is known for its striking architecture, full of grand Georgian residences and black-beamed Tudor houses. One of the best examples, Grange Court, is open to the public. The town is surrounded by countryside and woodland - perfect for nature lovers and avid walkers. The scenic Riverside walk is a circular route, starting and finishing in the town centre at the Corn Square. It is well-signposted and ideal for first-time visitors.

Leominster enjoys a well-deserved reputation for its thriving antique scene, with dealers eager to introduce you to their treasures at The Antiques Market,Leominster Antiques Centre Minster House and the Second Hand Warehouse & Antiques Centre. Alternatively, indulge in more traditional retail therapy, with a range of independent shops selling everything from books and toys to vinyl and organic skincare.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jolene - Verified booking

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Dutch barn.

It is beautifully decorated, well thought-out and equipped with everything you could need. The hot tub is a great addition and enabled us to keep the boys busy on rainy days. The hot tub robes were also a nice touch. The accommodation is very comfortable with quality furnishings. The barn is on a working farm but we were not disturbed once. The owners live close by but respect your privacy but were equally very responsive and helpful if needed. We really enjoyed exploring the local area. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to castles and historic buildings. We particularly enjoyed Hereford Cathedral, the chain library and the Mappa Mundi are a must see. The cafe was also really good. Homemade quiches and fresh salads. We thoroughly enjoyed Ludlow castle (a well preserved ruin which seems a bit of contradiction) . We also paid a visit to Croft Castle which is more of a stately home and there’s not as much to do there on a wet day but we did enjoy the tour of the house. Not as great in terms of value for money as Ludlow or Hereford cathedral. For something different and despite not being cider drinkers we did the Weston’s Cider factory tour which was fab. Surprisingly Family friendly too. Nice cafe there. Finally we went to Monkland Dairy. We didn’t do the tour but the lady in the shop was lovely, let us sample their 6 cheeses and the cheese makers both came out and had a chat to our boys. They watched the machinery through a little viewing window . The cheeses are delicious! Great holiday, lovely setting and plenty of things to do.

Well equipped and peaceful cottage in rural setting with friendly neighbours.

Comfortably furnished and well supplied with all the basics from loo roll, washing up liquid and kitchen towels to seasonings and condiments. The downstairs room is cosy with a log burner. There’s not a lot of room to manoeuvre, particularly if your dog, like ours, is flat out on the rug in precisely the spot you plan to step in next, but it’s fine. Upstairs is lighter and more spacious. The courtyard garden is a pleasant spot for breakfast or evening drinks, though next door’s yew hedge does throw it into shade by evening. One of the reasons we chose it was the close proximity of a pub which you can see from the driveway. In the end, we took the owner’s advice and drove there as the fast A road traffic and no footpath is not friendly to walking. The pub does food all day 364 days a year and has a pleasant outdoor space for drinks on a sunny evening with views over the valley. Docklow is set between Bromyard and Leominster, a very convenient location for the black and white village trail and a host of market towns and spas from Ludlow to Malvern and the Wye Valley, plus easy access to Hereford and Worcester. Less than a mile away the fishing lakes of Docklow Pools offer a woodland setting with indoor and outdoor seating at the Fishermen’s Arms pub and cafe.

      What a lovely cottage!

The location is brilliant, the neighbours are friendly, the kitchen is extremely well-equipped, and we loved the cosy cottage feel to the house, the comfortable and obviously well-loved furniture. We loved the eclectic collection of books. It was really nice in the stormy weather to sit by a warm woodburner (very easy to light!), listening, reading, talking, playing games... Meadbh the Border Collie didn't want to go out! Alex also was very helpful. The cottage is part of a secluded community (well hidden from the main road), sheltered and very picturesque. Great attractions nearby - we'd particularly recommend the National Trust houses of Croft House, Brockhampton and Berrington Hall - great walks, amazing views, and dog-friendly cafes. Ludlow is always worth a visit, great food outlets, a fascinating church and castle. We fully intend to return when the next opportunity presents itself - Thanks Huw!

      What a phenomenal place!

We loved being able to relax and unwind. The Dutch Barn is exceptionally comfortable, brilliantly equipped and has spectacular views from the upstairs living space. It is a beautifully airy, open place with a view from every window, either across the fields, over the orchard where the sheep graze or across to the hills in the distance. The spa hot tub was superbly looked after by Jackie. It was a pure delight to sit under the stars in the hot water and to just sit and chat. Every need was catered for in the Barn. We thoroughly enjoyed the welcome pack which featured local produce which was a lovely touch. The kitchen was very well thought out with condiments, cling film, foil, bags, clips, utensils all available for use. Overall, we will definitely be back. Truly one of the best places we have stayed in. Thank you so much for an incredible week.

We booked this property as it looked ideal for us to explore the area, it certainly didn't disappoint.

Quirky with character, all you required to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The layout was well thought out and the property owners who live next door and also run the local convenience store located to the front of their property were always available if needed. On arrival they met us with open arms and by the time we left I felt I had known them for many years having chats in their lovely old shop, they were so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. We visited a couple of national trusts not that far away plus a bit of sight seeing, weather behaved during the day so we made the most of it. If you are looking for a relaxing break in a sleepy chocolate box village and have no major mobility issues I suggest give this place a try, you will love it. Hope to return at some point in the future..
