What our customers say about their holidays

    • Julia - Verified booking

We had a wonderful weekend at Coopers Barn.

The setting is idyllic, as is the barn itself. The barn was very well equipped with everything needed for our stay and much more. Everything in the barn is of high quality along with a beautiful hand made kitchen. The welcome touches, from the Yorkshire Brack, chocolates in the bedrooms and even treats for our little cockapoo were much appreciated. Looking out from the dining area the windows frame the stunning views, so there is always something different to see with the changing sky and light. Just open the door and head up or down the road and enjoy the walks and of course the views. We actually had a bbq and did a bit of star gazing! We would recommend Coopers Barn it definitely deserves a 10! Our thanks to Chloe for calling in to check on us and ensure we had everything we needed. Also Boo the cat and Swift the dog two sweet visitors.

Coopers Barn was as we expected, clean, well maintained and all the facilities needed.

the owners, Fran and Glyn, were extremely nice and helpful and the welcome tray and the Christmas decorations were very much appreciated and make the Barn look very festive. We were welcomed personally and then left alone for the duration of our stay, although we were told to contact them at any time if a problem. We would certainly visit again but maybe in the Spring/summer due to its quite remote location as if the weather was bad (snow and ice), would make driving very difficult due to the narrow and winding roads to the cottage. A must for anyone wishing to have a "away from it all" break, but within 20 minutes of the beach and facilities of Whitby and the lovely homely and friendly pub at Egton Bridge.

This is a brilliant barn conversion.

We cannot fault the comfort, the views and accessibility to all the lovely countryside and coast within a short distance of this property. We cannot think of anything negative to say. We stayed second week in September 2018 and the weather was really kind to us. It was like home from home. Lovely room sizes beautifully fitted out with everything you need. Parking just outside for one car and extra parking just seconds away. Whitby and the rest of the coast is within close proximity and so is the North Yorkshire Moors railway station of Grosmont. Fabulous week. Owners extremely friendly and helpful and live next door if you need them otherwise very unobtrusive. Lovely owners and fabulous accommodation.

"Coopers Barn" offers visitors an idyllic location to base themselves to explore the North York Moors.

The accommodation has been fitted out to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings and was as expected clean and tidy. It offers a peaceful location with outstanding views across the Esk Valley. The owners live next door and are readily available if needed. We also enjoyed our daily visit by the owners cat "Boo" who was a pleasure to have around and wasn't any bother. There was a great local pub (Wheatsheaf) in the village of "Egton" which we would highly recommend. With it's friendly landlord it offers some fine ale's and the food was first class. We were pleased that we chose "Coopers Barn" for our holiday and we will definitely be returning again.

    • Mr Cruchten - Verified booking

The cottage as such is very nice and homely, with very good appliances. But despite the appliances it seems as being orientated towards visitors staying short-time and who prefer eating out than cooking themselves. Which is a pity, in my view, as those of us staying longer than a weekend don't necessarily want to eat out every night. Location is absolutely brilliant, with moors views and almost none thru traffic. Absolute quiet. Oh, let's not forget, parking is on the kerb, some 100 yards away from the cottage. The parking pehind the house is of little use as one can't get in with a family car.
