We stayed at Sandy House for a week from 3-10 August.

We are a family of 5 with 3 under 5, and Maggie the dog. Sandy House is on a small cul-de-sac off a quiet road which means privacy and a minimum of foot and road traffic noises - bliss when you’ve arrived from a town. It also meant that the children could ride their scooters up and down without fear when we were sitting at the front. As soon as we pulled up we were greeted by friendly neighbours on either side, all enjoying the last of the evening’s sunshine. The house was extremely clean, smelled fresh and had everything we needed; Caroline and Quentin had even thought to stock the fridge with the essentials and left a welcome basket of goodies. The living area was large enough to hold our family but not feel like we were on top of each other, helped by the fact that the outdoor area was straight out of the bifold doors. We didn’t use the decking much but with 3 small and active children there wasn’t much chance to sit down anywhere! The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need, again it was all very clean and well look after. We also appreciated the inclusion of smaller sized cutlery and child-friendly crockery. The utility with washing machine and dryer was superb, and well used during the visit. The bunk beds, twin room and double (with en-suite) on the 1st floor were perfect for the family to spread out in. Each beautifully presented, beautifully clean and very welcoming. The enormous family bathroom and landing area was just perfect for bedtime/bathtime routine and the large, fluffy white towels were of good quality and spotless. On the top floor was a further double room with en-suite and the family room, complete with enormous tv, sprawling sofa and a gaming area. We hung out and watched films and listened to the Anglesey weather raging against the windows and even managed a sleep over up there on the last night. Overall we had a thoroughly brilliant time at Sandy House and felt right at home and extremely welcomed. The little touches throughout (the dog bed and bowl, the 1st aid kit/under the sink essentials, the bathrobes, the board games and candles, are just some examples) showed that the owners cared about their home and the environment they were trying to create for their guests during their holiday. I will be recommending Sandy House to my friends and family and on our next visit, we’ll definitely try to book in again. Thank you Caroline and Quentin.

We have just had our second holiday at the cottage this year, and have had a lovely time once again.

The owners cannot be more helpful; they are lovely. The cottage is really quaint and comfy, close to the two beaches (few minutes walk to each) and nice and quiet. The fact that it is on the one level including the bedrooms is a real bonus although you do need to remember that there are a couple of steps from the hallway into the kitchen, fine for us but might not be okay for others. Both beaches and the High Street are only a few minutes walk from the cottage and, an added bonus for anyone who might find walking up an incline a bit difficult, is that you can walk through the Estate to one of the two beaches and to the High Street with its shops, restaurants and takeaways, virtually on the flat all the way! The cottage’s character and outside space was one of the things that sold it to us originally. The garden isn’t overlooked yet you have homes around you so you don’t feel isolated, and it faces the sun for most of the day. Unlike quite a few other cottages/homes for rent in the area, this cottage has kept its original garden, including lots of plants and even has real grass, something we have found lacking in other places we have rented before, which seem to favour bland decking, lots of hard standing and hardly any plants! The garden is also secure so, if like us you have a dog, it’s safe for them as well. We think the cottage is also priced just about right. Other cottages/bungalows in Rhosneigr can be a lot more expensive but, to us, are not half as nice to stop in, don’t have the character this cottage has nor are anywhere near as comfy! Tyddyn Serri is a truly lovely home from home, and we will be back again hopefully. Thank you again.

An excellent holiday home in an excellent location!

! The holiday home is one of the best we have stayed in. From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and at home It is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more at your disposal. The welcome gifts were lovely too and much appreciated. The beds are extremely comfortable and the shower is lovely and hot. The kitchen was lovely with the sun streaming in through the large window. There are games, DVD's and books for you to use should the weather not be favourable. Our 2 dogs loved the secure garden and although we didn't use it this time, the summer house is a lovely added touch. It was handy to have a secure off road parking space for the car. What makes this place even more special however is its superb location. We were easily able to walk from the house down onto the beach each day with the dogs and also in to town which is just beautiful with some gorgeous cafes, shops and restaurants and a handy shop for when we ran out of milk! The Oyster Catcher is also in very short walk away in the other direction. This place truly is a wonderful place to stay and we can't wait to return.

Lovely quaint cottage, comfy and welcoming and quiet, and being able to cosy up in front of a log fire at night a real treat.

Great location, 3 minutes walk to nearest long sandy beach and in another direction, a few minutes walk to the high street shops and takeaways, cafes and restaurants, and another even longer sandy beach. The owners haven’t only made their garden secure so that guests can take their dog with them on holiday, but they have kept a lawn, far better in our opinion than other cottages we have stopped in Rhosneigr where there was only hard standing or decking. The garden not only gets the sun virtually all day, but is also private with the benefit of a small summer house where you can enjoy cooler days or evenings. The owners were welcoming, even meeting us on our first day to explain how the heating worked and where to find things. We did think it was a bit odd not to have a washing machine in the cottage in case we needed to wash anything wet from the sea (or the weather) but found a sort of pop up launderette 5 minutes walk away that we could have used if needed which was fine. We would highly recommend the cottage and intend to return as soon as we get the chance!

We was told we couldn't go in the property till 4pm because of the extra deep cleaning that needed to be done for covid 19.

We noticed as soon as we got in the property it hadn't been deep cleaned the place was full of cobwebs that had been there for some time they wer thick with dust. The ridge in the top of the freezer door where you had put your hands to pull it open was full of dirt and crumbs. The hob was dirty and had something brown and sticky on it. It looked like they had made a quick trip in to change the bedding and towels. The floor needed brushing. The hot tap in the bathroom was loose and was all twisting round so we couldn't use it. To put it bluntly we had to start cleaning as soon as we got in and that's not what I expect to have to do on my holiday especially when I've paid nearly £400. We left it cleaner than we found it. I noticed someone else had wrote a review pointing out the same problems so they obviously didn't take it on board and rectify anything. The area and beach was superb so that was a good thing. Doubt I'd stay in the same house again
