What our customers say about their holidays

    • Elizabeth - Verified booking

We were celebrating our Golden Wedding We were met by the hosts who helped us carry our baggage down to the cottage.

My sister in law who had travelled with us has recently had a spinal operation, and was finding walking a challenge. She was assisted down to the cottage. It was December 15th When I walked in the door of the chalet there was a fully decorated Christmas tree and on the dining room table a vase with an arrangement of yellow roses and a card wishing us all the best for the occasion. We had a wonderful stay. The chalet met all our needs. It was clean light warm and convenient. During the week we were able to meet with some of our friends on different days. They had both attended our wedding in Nairobi. One was a bridesmaid. Our son and his family farm nearby and were also able to visit on different occasions. The chalet had double doors that opened out on a veranda. This enabled us to keep to the then restrictions of being able to meet six people outside. We were most impressed by the thought and care that had obviously gone into the arrangement of the chalets. I was able to work on my son's farm during the week. When I returned it was getting dark and the security lights came on and the path down to the chalet door was lit by fairy lights. It was details like this that impressed us. We would certainly like to return at some date when restrictions all. From three very satisfied customers, Charles and Margaret Shaylor and Elizabeth Dain.

      What an amazing find.

Broadway village is on the same road as Pennylands and is literally a mile away which is perfect if you like a tipple or two. Judi and Glen were perfect hosts and have equipped the lodge’s with everything you need. We had a fully English breakfast several days and I made us dinner one evening too. The open plan living made it a joy for me to cook whilst looking at the stunning views. The beds were so comfortable and each bed had firm and soft pillows. There are two fantastic en-suite bathrooms which was brilliant as we were a party of two couples. We had the twin room which made a nice change as my other half fidgets. There were complimentary sachets of hot chocolate and a selection of biscuits waiting for us along with milk, tea, coffee, sugar and several cleaning and bathing products which was very welcomed. In our opinion the lodges are first class and the location is perfect. We ate at the Swan which was delicious. We also tried a chippy tea take away from Russell’s Fish & Chips which was so reasonably priced and actually cheaper than where we live in Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield. We would recommend a visit to Bourton-on-the-Water and Moreton in the Marsh. All in all, a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable stay with amazing hosts that are on hand and really helpful.

This is a real gem of a place, the hut is surrounded by farmland and a wonderful, unspoilt look.

Based at the end of the owners garden, it is secretly placed amongst a small orchard in an extensive green space, easily the length of a football park. Peace and quiet is guaranteed. Throw away those phones, bring your books and relax and take in the sounds of the countryside. There is a resident pigeon and game birds are running around the adjoining fields. Take a seat at one of around 5/6 , seating areas, all with great views of the surrounding hills. At night, enjoy sipping a coffee, wine or beer at the front of the hut, lit up with solar lights. Inside, the hut has everything you need for a weekend away, or like us, a full 7 nights. A Comfortable bed awaits, with a log burner for those colder nights. The surrounding areas have an abundance of places to walk why not take in go ape, walk, cycle or zip slide around the forrest. Many restaurants and pubs nearby. Plough Inn - 3 courses for 12 quid, or for 20 the largest steak you can eat. Sunday lunch at the Running Horse is a must. If going out and about, the steam train from Kiddiminstet is a real treat. Finally, find better hosts, please let me know, Pete and Donna were excellent hosts - full of useful information for outings - helped us with our weekly intimacy. Great folks, great place, we will be back.

We stayed in the log cabin from 7/10 to 14/10/23 and having stayed in several holiday lets we are pleased to say this one is the best, thus far.

David rang us a couple of times during our journey, gave us directions for the last bit and gave us a very warm greeting when we arrived. The cabin is spacious, immaculately presented, very clean and equally comfortable. Everything one needs is there and a nice "welcome pack" is provided along with a homely touch of flowers on the dining table. The grounds are lovely and even has its own mini 9 hole pitch and putt golf course ! The beds are comfortable and we slept well as it is very peaceful. "Visitors" include squirrels, pheasants, bluetits, robins and, if you are lucky - a Muntjac Deer. We only saw him on our very last day. We have only ever returned to a holiday property once before but we were so impressed by The Log Cabin that after arriving on the Saturday we booked up for April 2024 the next day !! Thank you David and Jack for a wonderful week and we look forward to our next stay.

We stayed in this beautiful lodge for the August Bank Holiday weekend.

2 couples & a small dog. This place is just gorgeous. We were met by the owners, a lovely couple who were very friendly & welcoming. A lovely touch by the owners of some milk, tea, sugar , coffee & an assortment of biscuits on arrival. The lodge was spotlessly clean, the beds were super comfy & the kitchen was well stocked of crockery, saucepans, cutlery etc. The TV as a built-in Dvd & there was plenty of dvds to choose from & books if you fancied a read. Everything was thought of! It was roughly a ten minute walk into the village of Broadway, a beautiful place with shops, cafes, pubs & restaurants. We did the walk along the cotswold way upto Broadway Tower where the views are absolutely amazing! This property is wonderful, definitely recommend to our friends & would definitely return in the future.
