Guests say

Guests generally enjoy the peaceful and beautiful location of Ailsa Craig, with its stunning views and wildlife. The wood-fired hot tub is a highlight, although some maintenance issues are noted. The pods are appreciated for their warmth and amenities, though comfort levels vary due to mattress preferences. The owner, Nigel, is often mentioned for his helpfulness and attentiveness.

The property is mostly described as clean and well-kept, with only a few mentions of minor issues such as a murky hot tub and unclean barbecues. The positive remarks suggest a high level of cleanliness overall.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions. It is considered a perfect spot to relax and reconnect with nature, contributing to a very high score.

Comfort receives mixed reviews, with several guests finding the mattresses too soft or springy, and some suggesting the need for thicker curtains or blinds. However, the pods are also described as warm and luxurious, indicating a fair level of comfort overall.

Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a working kitchen, BBQ, and speakers. However, there are suggestions for improvements such as better pathway paving, microwave-safe dishes, and more robust BBQ utensils. Maintenance issues with the hot tub and some equipment also affect the score.

While the reviews reflect a positive experience with the host and some nice touches, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful gestures that would warrant a score in this category.

We were a family of 6 + our family dog. We had a lovely time. The log burning hot tub was amazing as were the views of the Malvern Hills.

The pod was clean & comfortable and the views over the lake were beautiful. Be aware if you have a dog, you will need to keep it on a lead outdoors due to livestock, but this wasn’t a problem for us & we just took a crate & throws to keep the indoors clean. Hot tub was wonderful & much enjoyed. It’s a beautiful location, very peaceful, a fantastic getaway & the owner was very helpful when needed (but also left you to your own devices to relax and enjoy). Would love to return! ❤️

The location was superb! The views were beautiful with the lake, swans, geese and ducks to watch. The hot tub was greatly enjoyed and constantly hot if you ensure the wood is topped up. It was the kids highlight of the holiday. The cabin had everything we needed and very comfortable, great shower and modern lighting. We visited Whitley court and gardens, the English Heritage site just across the road for a good walk and play and ate at Bloomfields for breakfast one day which we can highly recommend along with the New Inn and the Holt Fleece for evening meals, both catered for children. We stayed in winter and my only suggestion would be to add a mat on entry and a bath mat in the bathroom by the shower. Just to save the floor. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
