To complete your Scottish getaway, why not stay in one of our beautiful log cabins or lodges? Log cabin holidays offer something truly unique, where you can enjoy the sites and attractions of Scotland while immersing yourself in nature. From cosy, rustic lodges surrounded by wild Scottish wilderness to ancient hunting lodges brimming with character, our range of delightful Scotland log cabins has something for everyone.

For a quiet, laidback break, base yourself in a quaint village in the Scottish Highlands. If you're looking for excitement, stay near the vibrant cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Or if you want to explore everything Scotland has to offer, choose somewhere central and go on an adventure. Wherever you stay, one thing's for sure - you won't be bored.

Why choose a Scotland weekend break or staycation?

The awe-inspiring country of Scotland is steeped in myth and history. The rugged and varied landscapes and enchanting cities and towns offer something for adventurers, explorers, dreamers, and history lovers.

With so much to discover in Scotland, how do you choose where to base yourself?

The Isle of Skye takes the biscuit when it comes to stunning scenery. The craggy peaks of the Cuillins, the picturesque sea cliffs of Neist Point, and the wonderful pinnacles of the Old Man of Storr mean you'll be snapping photos at every turn.

The magical city of Edinburgh is made for exploring, with streets brimming with history, mighty natural landmarks, iconic buildings such as the great castle, brilliant shops and restaurants, and plenty of activities and sites. Go for a stroll along the Royal Mile, join a tour and discover Edinburgh Castle, hike up Arthur's Seat, pop into the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, and enjoy an iconic Scottish tipple at the Scotch Whisky Experience.

Fancy more city excitement? Base yourself in or around Glasgow and immerse yourself in the city's unique culture and history. You'll find excellent museums, galleries, historic landmarks, castles, cathedrals, shops, and restaurants to keep you busy. Enjoy mooching through the vibrant Buchanan Street, take it easy at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, marvel at the stunning Glasgow Cathedral, and go wild with Glasgow's epic nightlife.

Less than an hour from Glasgow you'll find Loch Lomond, one of the most scenic parts of the country. The loch is at the heart of Scotland's first national park and is perhaps the best place for a breathtaking lakeside hike.

Inverness is the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. The city might be small, but it is full of history, jaw-dropping landscapes, Scottish charm, and excellent food. Its central location in the Highlands means there are lots of incredible walks in and around Inverness. One of our favourites is Plodda Falls, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by enchanting forests. Loch Ness is just 20 minutes away, so you can try your luck at spotting the legendary monster. Don't forget to visit Inverness Castle and wander around the majestic fortress that has been standing since 11 AD.

If you're a castle fan or history buff, why not stay in Stirling? Sat on top of a wooded crag, Stirling has an idyllic Old Town which is filled with cobbled streets, historic buildings, and the impressive Stirling Castle. The views from the castle stretch to the Highlands, and makes for a brilliant day out.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • June - Verified booking

Weren't told that the swimming pool was unavailable until we got there.

We tried to fire up the hot tub and followed the instructions. We were told that it took 30 minutes to heat up, we checked after 30,45 and 1 hour but the water was stone cold. This basically meant sitting watching TV for 2 days which we could do at home, we decided to head home and the co owner agreed to refund us £200. We were advised that his wife would contact us to arrange this later that day, no one phoned, I called back the following day and spoke to her son who said he would get his mother to call us we are still waiting. We were contacted by Sykes who said the refund had been removed and we could have 2 nights free, given that the owner didn't have the courtesy to call us we rejected their offer. Sykes basically stated that there was nothing else they would do and when I requested their CEO email address again I didn't get the courtesy of a response. Wouldn't use them again and will ensure that none of my family and friends do either. Case of we have your money and don't care. Can I also point out that the swimming pool is still showing as available on Sykes site- False advertising.

Kendoon Cabin was lovely, it was so remote and there is no light pollution, you could see the stars. The hot tub takes a bit of work, it wasn't filled for us which has we known that we would have got there earlier to do this as it takes a while. A couple of housekeeping things, there was dog mess round the side of the cabin near to the tap for the hot tub. Luckily we didn't step in it but not very pleasant, the chairs and blankets were also covered in dog hair which was a bit annoying. I understand you allow pets but I would expect there to be no trace of them for the next guests. We were also left a sponge and dish cloth, the sponge was well used. Given how much money we spent to stay there I would expect a new sponge and most of the dishes/cutlery were dirty, again it is the responsibility of the user to do the dishes but I would have expected housekeeping to double check the details. These small things just knocked the shine off the place a little. We still had a wonderful time but was left a little disappointed by the standard of housekeeping not being met.

I'd like to express my family's heartfelt compliments following our recent stay at Red Kite Lodge.

My husband, daughter, and I were graced with a delightful week; the lodge itself truly enhanced our trip. Upon arrival, we noted that the lodge was commendably clean and well-maintained, an indicator of the care and diligence that your team exercises. The heating was excellent, furnishing us with cosy evenings in, while the hot tub provided a luxurious and welcomed bonus. Further praise is due to the owner, who exhibited an excellent level of approachability and responsiveness to our queries. It is outstanding to encounter such dedication and swift communication in the hospitality industry. In light of our overall experience, we feel impelled to recommend your establishment enthusiastically to others. Your commitment to quality service is duly appreciated, and we trust others will recognise this too. Thank you once again for providing us with a memorable stay.

The area Crieff and the actual cabin were very nice, well equipped and the owner was very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us.

However we were disappointed to find the plot was still a building site with only our cabin occupied. Although this may have worked in our favour as the cabin next to us was very close (especially if you wanted to relax in the hot tub without being over looked). Unfortunately we could only use the hot tub once, as it was slightly off colour with a funny smell. We did follow the instructions on two occasions to add the chemicals but it didn’t seem to clear up. The oven and dishwasher tripped whilst we were there and again no fault of the owner as we believe it may have been linked to the ongoing work on site. The owner couldn’t have done more to help and was in contact with the site manager throughout to get the problem sorted. I feel the property has good potential but we were a little disappointed with the ongoing work and the hot tub.

Lovely cabin in stunning surroundings. The cabin was spotlessly clean and had almost everything you could possibly need for a break. We loved the wood fired hot tub, especially after a swim in the loch, and had pretty much got the hang of firing it up by the end of our stay. There were a couple of small issues, we had booked to stay for a week and the weather was terrible for the first few days, there was no way to get anything dried. We could really have used a drying screen to hang wet clothes and towels on. Ideally a small washer dryer would be fantastic, there is space under the kitchen counter. When the weather turned nicer towards the end of the week a small drying rotary line outside would be great. This did not spoil our holiday by any means but would certainly have made it nicer. I would definitely go back again.
