What our customers say about their holidays

    • John - Verified booking

      First impressions was good.

However, cooker not working after switching on the socket. Mould on bathroom ceiling (this could be rectified by using Ronseal anti mould paint, we know this as we have used it ourselves) and mould on the shower curtain(got photo's if needed). The water was only hot at certain times of the day. Cutlery and glasses had to be washed before use. Fridge was leaking because of the drain hole was blocked, which we cleared. The shelves were dirty in the fridge. Welcome pack didn't have clear information in it for emergencies, i.e. hospital, vets etc... Shower heater was temperamental it was either roasting hot or stone cold, no happy medium. Seat outside broke when sat on it. Blind in living room very heavy for a disabled person to put up. No instructions on where to get card charged as there is no Belle Aire shop that we were aware off.

On arrival and having unpacked, the first time we flushed the toilet we found that it wasn't working properly and was unusable.

The office was locked and so we called the two out of hours numbers both of which were on message service. About an hour later a very angry looking young man arrived, he marched through our houseboat without speaking to us, he proceeded to stomp in and out . Then the owner arrived and insisted that the toilet was checked that day which it clearly had not been. It wasn't really all that clean anyway. If on cleaning and flushing it would have been found faulty . When I disputed her claim the owner just rudely talked over me . We then had to pack up all our belongings and move to another houseboat.

The idea of a houseboat is good but on moving in we found the doors would not shut properly a window would not lock.

and a bust pipe in the early hours of Wednesday morning was not fixed by the Friday we moved out. the whole house boat including all utilities inside and out side need a good update, because for the money it cost me i am very very disappointed and for the money i paid would never recommend this holiday accommodation to my worst enemy, and some sort of compensation would not go a miss i .could say more but feel i am wasting my time. Some one has to visit this site.

The cottage was gorgeous, we received a welcome hamper when we arrived and they even let us check in early which was fab. All the instructions and information were presented in a folder which was very helpful. The cottage is decorated so nicely! The garden and patio area was gorgeous and we managed to sit outside for a drink in the Easter sunshine. The owners were great communicating with us from start to finish!
