What our customers say about their holidays

Ty Barddu, what a stunning property and location.

The property was immaculate throughout and everything had been thought of. There was a lovely welcome tray for us and the dog. We didn’t have particularly good weather during our stay but this did not stop us enjoying the property, walks and nearby towns. The walks listed by the owners were perfect and of different durations. Myself and my arthritic German Shepherd were able to complete the 1 hour walk with plenty to see and the river for him to lay in!!! before returning to a lovely evening on the decking with a few bottles of locally brewed ales. Initial email from the owners a day or two before arrival with directions and other information was great. We had no cause to contact the owners at all while away as everything was just perfect. A truly lovely hideaway for two and a four legged friend with the constant noise in the background of the flowing river. A must for anyone seeking a relaxing break surrounded by nature and not wanting for anything. No problems with phone signal or WiFi. Tv was perfect and we were able to watch a few films on Netflix whilst away. Parking at the property is no problem at all. A big thumbs up to the owners, you have created a gem of a place.

We have had a lovely stay at the cabin.

It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and although it was cold outside it got cosy inside really quickly with the fire in the living room. The beds were comfortable as was the modern living room furniture. The owners had provided everything we needed including instructions for using every single appliance, dog treats, bird seed for bird watching and a thoughtful pack of biscuits, butter and milk for our arrival. The Wi-Fi in the cabin was brilliant and our kids spent the week happily connected. The enclosed veranda was stocked with a BBQ and pizza oven which would have been great to use when warmer weather. The text and call from the owners before our stay also made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend and hope we can return one day. Thanks Phil and Jackie

We have had a lovely stay here this past week.

The cabin is very cosy, warm and homely. It was nice to arrive and find milk, butter etc had been left for our use. Due to the weather we didn’t get to muse the outside space, however from the windows we saw lots of different birds, rabbits and squirrels. Just something to mention, the bunk beds are child’s size and not suitable for an adult to use unless they’re quite short, under 5ft. As we took 2 older children with us it meant that our daughter had to sleep in the bunk but because of its size she didn’t sleep well at all. This isn’t a complaint or criticism but it’s worth noting if you’re considering this accommodation. Our hosts were super helpful and I have no reservations in recommending this accommodation. Thanks for a lovely week.

We wanted to say a huge thank you as we’ve had a lovely stay at a superbly presented and excellently appointed Dairy Cottage retreat at Black Lion Cynwylelfed, Carmarthenshire, owned by a lovely couple. We could not have enjoyed our holiday more. We would thoroughly recommend a visit. It’s located within about half an hour of several different towns and attractions (such as the botanic garden and steam railway) but far enough away so, when back at the cottage, you can enjoy the solitude and view in peace. The hot tub was a surprising extra we had not been expecting and we made great use of it in the evenings. On arrival, our hosts had left us teats for our little dog which was a lovely touch. A definite 10 out of 10.

We stayed for a week at Dairy Cottage with our dog and it was outstanding. The owners are extremely welcoming and did everything possible to make sure that everything went smoothly. The cottage itself is set in an amazing location and the hot tub was great to sit in every night to relax. The property is completely self contained so you have all the privacy you would expect. The cottage is located in a central location in Carmarthenshire allowing easy travel to many incredible places. When we arrived there was Towel Swans along with complimentary items to greet us. The cottage is well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. We will definitely be returning in the future!
