What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr - Verified booking

The apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bed linen and towels were of a high quality and the apartment was very well equipped with everything you might need for the stay. It was in a very quiet location even though it was quite close to the main road into Aldeburgh. The views from the living room and bedroom were lovely and we were lucky that the weather was very nice so we took advantage of sitting in the beautiful front garden. The only negative is that the apartment is described as being within walking distance of Aldeburgh High Street. This is misleading as it is two miles along the busy Saxmundham Road with no footpath in places. This meant that we had to drive every evening into town to eat/drink which is not ideal if you have already been driving in the daytime. On the plus side there were several lovely walks close by to the apartment, in particular the Sailors Path which was only a hundred yards from the entrance to the property. We would definitely recommend Marsh View and hopefully will return next year.

The Secret Cottage, Aldeburgh - excellent property. The owner really has thought of everything. A really home from home Lovely cottage. Definitely a well kept secret. It was very tastefully decorated for Christmas. All the added extras- the Welcome basket, the "goodies" incuding Prosecco in the fridge and the truckle of sweets, the spare tioletries in the bathroom were a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. It is such a well equipped cottage. With all the games and outdoor equipment. We enjoyed sailing the boats on the near by boating lake. Even the dogs were well catered for!! Treats, balls, poo bags and bed. Our friend's dog loved the light up ball and it kept her entertained all weekend. For once the ball defeated her and she didn't manage to destroy the ball!! The owner really has thought of everything and made the cottage a real home from home. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to friends and would love to come back.

Extremely well appointed and equipped little cottage. Location was superb for beach and high street - only a few minutes walk to each and Aldeburgh was a great base and bustling, well kept little town, perfectly placed for exploring the Suffolk coast. Cheryl had thought of everything in the cottage that a family with children and a dog could possibly want. The cupboards were brimming with useful extra items for the beach, picnics, rainy days, dogs, kids etc. We cooked a few family meals during our stay and found the kitchen very well equipped - all the food goodies that had been left were really appreciated too! Also enjoyed the snuggly dressing gowns and comfortable beds. Truly a home from home. We accidentally stayed an hour later than we should have on the last day due to misreading the literature, and Cheryl and Sussex Secrets were very kind and understanding about our mistake. Couldn't fault their service or management from booking to check out.

Beautifully appointed cottage with lots of living space but still maintaining a very cosy feel. Very well equipped .The location was perfect ,meaning you could eat out every night without driving, lots of good shops and bakeries, seafood huts and beach within a few minutes walk. Car parking space at the church works really well. There are lots of lovely walks you can do straight from the cottage. The welcome package had to be seen to be believed so generous including all fresh ingredients for bacon and egg butties. Although just off the High Street it was very quiet (except seagulls 1st thing in morning!!! but to be expected when so close to the sea) The owner was a wonderful host and responded very quickly with the only issue we had - it was sorted by time we got back from a morning walk. Would definitely stay again and have been recommending to family and friend

The secret cottage is a gem! It's so charming, practical and stylish but also has everything you need.... and more. I think I had the best night's sleep in the very large and comfortable bed that I've had in years! It's in a perfect location with the beach a stone's throw away and the shops just a little further up the high street. I would highly recommend this cottage for a perfect get away. Also very dog friendly and a wonderful hamper on arrival for guests and furry friends!
