Snaptrip says

The Hide Out in Aldeburgh offers a peaceful and spacious lodge experience, ideal for exploring Suffolk. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property, including a generous decking area and thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. While some outdoor maintenance issues are noted, the comfortable interiors and tranquil setting make for a delightful stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The lodge is generally described as clean and well-maintained, with only minor issues such as bird droppings on outdoor furniture and unclean windows mentioned.

The location is praised for its peacefulness and as an ideal base for exploring local villages, nature reserves, and nearby towns, despite some comments on the dried-up lake and the initial impression of the drive to the site.

Guests find the lodge comfortable, with spacious rooms and adequate heating. Some suggest extra blankets for colder nights, indicating room for improvement.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and extras like DVDs and books. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as rickety steps, a stiff tap, and the need for power washing the deck.

While guests appreciate the welcome pack and basic necessities provided, there are no specific mentions of gifts, so it cannot be confirmed if these are a regular offering, and thus the score is set to null.

The Cottage is just what we needed for a few days away with 2 dogs. It is adequately equipped, but would benefit from some extra blankets in the second bedroom now the nights are getting colder. There was a fair bit of rain and storm Babet had just passed through - pity the lake has not filled up again. We enjoyed some sun most days and visited many local towns and villages as well as the sea.

It was very peaceful, the lodge was clean and well maintained as well as being more than adequately supplied with kitchen itensils and amenities. A real home from home. We would definitely go there again.

The lodge was very comfortable and contained everything you would need. The decking area was nice and spacious and had very nice outdoor furniture, I particularly liked the hammock. I had to cut back a few bramble runners that were encroaching onto the decking though and some of the furniture had bird poo on it which had to be cleaned off, but for me that wasn't to much of a pain. The one big problem we had though, was getting in, we were putting in the code for the key and it would not open. It was about half an hour later that we found another key box around the corner attached to the front fence which worked. I think that could have been made more clear. The stay far outweighed the little niggles though.
