"This is a stunning little cottage very clean and the owners are very nice and very helpful. I am loathed to give any negatives but there are one or two that have to be mentioned. Firstly we have cottage holidays in the UK two or three times over a year and this cottage is expensive for its size in comparison to the cottages we rent in England and Wales at the same time of the season. It is a studio cottage rental but the best has been made out of the space available. The cottage is situated behind the owners house in the back garden and it is not really for anyone that has mobility problems. The chairs give little support and there is no couch due to space availability. On a positive note, the kitchen and bathroom facilities are good although the kitchen has limited work surface areas, but, plenty of utensils if you are cooking your own food. This is a very warm cottage if you venture out in the low season. Good television reception and the Wi Fi is fine This property would be good if you like to play Golf with Turnberry ten minutes away or if you like walking. Nearby historical sites are Culzean Castle and better still if you take photographs is Dunure Castle which is awesome. Then a fairly short drive to Alloway for the Robert Burns experience. There is a grocery store just a short distance away which has almost everything you could want including what I suspect to be the biggest selection of flavoured crisps in the UK, never knew the flavours existed. I like to fish for trout and there are quite a few waters available with just a short drive. All in all we enjoyed the visit, I would not return due to my personal health problems, I simply just need a bit more space and I would not rent a studio accommodation again knowing what I know now. But for all you healthy couples out there, this is a good rental and well worth a visit !!"

"This is the second time I have stayed at Rowan Tree Cottage. The cottage is light and airy and is in a secluded and peaceful location. The cottage is well equipped and there is a tv in each room. The owner, Bob, is friendly and welcoming. There is no WiFi (I didn’t miss it) but this is available a short distance away at Glenshee Pottery and Cafe. The nearest supermarkets are in Blairgowrie, about 12 miles away but basics can be obtained from the post office at Bridge of Cally. There is wildlife in abundance in the area - a stoat, hare and roe deer visited the garden. It was relaxing to watch a wide variety of birds on the feeder just outside the window. The cottage is in a good location for visiting Perthshire and the Angus glens as well as Braemar and Balmoral."

"We had a great week at Smithy Cottage. The location is ideal for the beaches at Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Croyde. There is also a lot to do in the area away from the beach but we never had to drive more than about 20 minutes. Highly recommend the National Trust property at Arlington Court (20 mins by car from Smithy). Our 3 year old loved all the open green space around Smithy Cottage and the childrens' play area, and the fact that there were other children staying in other cottages. The cottage itself was clean, warm and fairly well equipped. The owners were very friendly and there was a cake (and mini eggs!) waiting for us on arrival."

"A very quiet and peaceful unique location. No traffic noise here! Yet easy to access local walks or drive to fell walks elsewhere. The photograph of the let does not do it justice. We often sat in the private 'courtyard space ' using the garden furniture provided and ate our breakfast in the morning sunshine whilst planning our days activities. Yes the TV is somewhat dated. A full cooker would be welcome instead of microwave/hob combo. Overall very good value and a very special place to stay. We are glad we chose to stay here in this unspoilt part of the Lakes and I am sure we will return."

"Sal and Neil are truly the best and kindest hosts we have ever come across. We stayed at the Coach House and had the greatest time, there was everything there that you could possibly need and the whole place was finished to a great standard and very cosy and warm. At the end of our holiday we were actually snowed in and Sal and Neil kindly supplied us with provisions to see us through and offered to let us stay a couple of extra nights until we could drive home. We cannot recommend this place enough and really look forward to coming back very soon"
