What our customers say about their holidays

    • Judy - Verified booking

Castle coach house is so lovely, beautifully finished with lots of space and light.

There is a great utility / boot room which helps keep all the mud out of the main house. The bedrooms upstairs have great proportions and yet feel very cosy, plenty of bathrooms! The open plan kitchen, dining and living space gives everyone the space they need. Sofas and chairs are comfortable. The different lighting options helps to make the mood right in the evening. Lots of classic furniture and trinkets to keep it feeling homely and interesting. The kitchen is well equipped. There are lots of games to be used. We absolutely loved the house. Couple of things to work on: maintenance of the washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, extractor fans etc is probably due. The sitting room area could do with a picture or two or a wooden dresser with the tv inside a cabinet, and get rid of the fender which takes up space and looks a bit odd. The enclosed garden wasn’t enclosed as the gate is broken. It’s also unfortunately a muddy bog which may be tricky to figure out as it’s at the bottom of a hill. I felt a bit sad being right next to lovely garden areas of the castle which have private signs on them all so you can’t use them.

We had a problem with the central heating as all the radiators went cold at 7.

30pm sent a text to the owner who came over after a few moments and she said its because the radiators were up to temperature as they had thermostatic valves. all the valves were set to 5 which is the highest they go the cottage was getting cold so it was not the valves, she had a look at the boiler which was not on despite it being on a timed programme and pressed a button to reset and the boiler restarted about 2 hours later we had to reset the boiler again ourselves and we had to keep doing this for the duration of the holiday sent the owner another text at 9.30am on Monday to say we have to keep resetting the boiler every 2 hours otherwise the radiators go off and the cottage goes cold, she came over again and said again its the thermostatic valves and that's how its set up despite the cottage being cold my mother who is 85 feels the cold could tell when the heating was going off and we had to keep an eye on the time to get ready to reset the boiler, there was a electric heater in the lounge so we had to put that on to get some heat in the lounge overall the cottage was nice and cosy just the heating was the problem

      Chronic damp in en-suite bedroom.

Owners attempting to mask with diffuser. When one opens the wardrobe, it is overpowering. Very poor quality mattresses which belong at the tip. Twin beds are for children - not adults. Settee offered nil support when used. Heating system highly controlled with FIVE time settings which made tenants constantly have to override to achieve any warmth. Fourteen degrees at night? Why do owners think they can spend money on prettifying a property (lovely bathrooms) and then neglect the basics? Sykes property guidelines for potential owners specifically states there should be ‘ no hint of damp’ and comfortable mattresses. We had to leave after three nights as unhealthy and uncomfortable. It isn’t our job to carry out property inspections and we weren’t prepared to have confrontation with owners over matters that cannot be rectified. The owner denies the property has a damp problem - really? Heating needs to be around 18-22 continuously to deal with damp. £700 for a week in October ? We completed our trip to the Gower in a lovely modern warm caravan……

Absolutely fantastic! Beautiful cottage hidden away! Private and quiet, garden space was perfect for our children - enclosed and safe. Property was very well equipped with everything we needed and more, extremely clean and the welcome basket was a real personal touch and very welcoming.. thank you! Loved the rainforest shower a very nice touch. Over all a beautiful traditional Welsh cottage with modern twists. Owners were outstanding hosts, extremely friendly and welcoming. We had logs, kindling and matches left for the wonderful log burner in the sitting room which was very cosy at night time. Three well spaced rooms with plenty of storage for clothes and blankets. Spacious kitchen with room for five people around the table, nice added extra of a smart TV and modern appliances. Local amenities ( especially with children ) was perfect, lots to do and see, if you have children - would recommend the Moody Cow play barn 16 minutes away, fantasy farm and Aberaeron beach within 20 minutes. Overall - fabulous property and we will be returning for sure. 5 Stars!!

We really enjoyed our stay at North Bay which we thought was a very smart and comfortable property. It was spotlessly clean and the very friendly owners met us on arrival to give us a quick tour and ensure that we were happy with everything. The main bedroom was particularly good, very spacious and probably the most comfortable bed we have ever had in a holiday let, the second bedroom was much smaller if 4 people were staying. There was some road noise being located just off the main road, but this did not prevent us getting a good night's sleep. The bungalow is in a great location for exploring this part of North Wales. There are great public transport services here if you want to leave the car behind, and with a bus stop 150m away you can easily walk into Rhos or along the coastal promenade and catch a bus back ( buses every 12 minutes!). Llandudno is only a few miles away with trains to take you further afield. Bodnant Gardens about 8 miles away are well worth a visit. Will definitely consider returning.
