"Firstly the positives- nice location, picturesque village, close to pub, local walks and shops nearby, nice historical building.Negatives- not really suitable for a winter break, really cold, had to keep very noisy boiler on 24/7, did buy wood for the woodburner and had a fire in every night but heat seems to escape out rather than in, lots of condensation with windows being very wet, couldn't open the windows, damp smell, used own towels, not able to park in front of the cottage as its first come first served so had to park in various locations around the village, no garden for our little dog to explore (front door goes straight out onto the not so busy main village road but at times cars do speed around the corner) and no means of communication (no telephone signal, wifi or telephone), it's actually nice not having some form of communication but felt vulnerable should we need to make contact in the event of an emergency. We chose the cottage for its location to Plymouth as I had work there and for this it was perfect and I know my review sounds negative and I believe the cottage would really suit a couple in the summer and I can imagine the village to be a lovely and sociable place at that time, so all in all we had a nice weekend but we have stayed at better places for an equal price."

"This was our second visit to Yennadon House and as ever, it fully met expectations for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren. This is an unpretentious sprawling country pile with a fabulous entrance up its private drive and space for as many cars as you like. The garden is huge and in sun all day plus a full size tennis court hidden away on the other side of the house. This is an older house with bags of history and bedrooms scattered throughout which allow all visitors a sense of privacy and the living areas downstairs are simply huge. All this plus direct access onto Dartmoor! It was perfectly clean enough on arrival and we made sure we left it as we found it - as all visitors should surely do? Looking forward to returning next year!"

"This cottage was located in a pretty, secluded village with little traffic and with the sound of the Milton Brook nearby and owls hooting in the trees at night, it was very restful and yet very close to Plymouth and Tavistock, with lovely places to visit nearby including The Garden House and Buckland Abbey. Although there is a good pub in the village, there is no convenience store and we had to go a little way to find a newspaper, but this was only a minor niggle and we found the cottage very comfortable and with its three floors, surprisingly spacious - everything was spotless, easy to use, and clearly labelled - wish we could have stayed longer. The owners were very welcoming and helpful."

"We had a lovely stay at the bolthole with just a few things that we felt could have improved it. We took our dog and like to keep on top of the dog hair but there was no hoover just a panote and brush. I did not realise when booking that the garden was across the small road from the property and we only had a small strip of grass to use although our dog is used to going on concrete it's a pain when you have got to put your shoes on to do that. It was adequate space wise for two people but I personally think it would be tight for 4. The only reason we would not stay again was the garden situation."
