Great escape
The house is a great escape being on a remote loch side location with lawn running down to the water front. The house inside feels much grander than the photo impression of a small dormer bungalow. The children loved the pool and was great for the adults for a morning swim. The pool is about 30ft long and about 4ft to 8ft deep. The pool shower lights up with blue LED's. You feel that you have your own holiday complex. The only issue is the 3 mile drive is quite rough. We managed with a Mazda 3 with a couple of scrapes. At least is keeps out people just having a snoop around! The new caretakers are friendly and helpful and live about 100m from the property. The owner also greeted us on our arrival. The caretaker Andy took our children out on the boat to see seals and to go fishing, which the children really loved. If your party desires complete isolation from other people this property may not be for you. If we were to go again we would get a certificate so we could use the boat. This would have transformed the whole holiday as it would have given us much more freedom to explore the area including going across to Tarbet to go shopping, site seeing and go to reasturants and bars with no need for a car.

Spectacular stay and perfect getaway
The Dunnet Estate exceeded all our expectations… and our expectations were high. A week of luxury for our extended family. We loved having the space to hang out all together or escape to one of the many beautiful rooms on offer. It was a perfect setting for a murder mystery party, Easter egg hunt, toasted marshmallows around the fire pit, a fantastically equipped kitchen with everything we needed. Even allowing for for last minute birthday cakes to be whipped up. The kids loved the space which proved perfect for hide and seek, as well as the excitement of a cinema room and table tennis. Beautiful rooms, all recently refurbished to the highest standard. How often can you say you’ve slept in the same room as the queen mother or had a shower in a turret with a view? Lots of things on offer to do locally. We enjoyed walks around Dunnet Head, a chilly dip in the sea at Peedie Sands, wild swimming in the loch, trip to the most northerly point of the mainland, took in views of the Orkneys, encountered seals swimming off the headland and a touch of gin and whiskey tasting. An unforgettable family holiday in a beautiful place.

Perfect place
Blairgowrie Manor was the perfect place for a recent family trip to Scotland. 8 adults and 10 children were easily accommodated with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The real joy, however, was everything that Blairgowrie Manor had to offer. Between authentic Scottish breakfasts, a true Scottish pub (in-house), and plenty of entertainment, there was never a dull moment. The location of Blairgowrie Manor also made it the right choice for our family. You're less than 1 hour from any number of sites and activities. Personally, we ventured out to St. Andrews, Perth, Edinburgh, Balmoral Castle, as well as many of the quaint small towns that make Scotland the country that it is. One of my personal favourites was Dunkeld (which is also where we did some fly fishing--great experience!). At the end of the day, the staff were second to none and accommodated all of our needs. I look forward to the day we can make a return trip!
