Head out your front door and onto Prestwick’s seafront, where you can enjoy relaxing strolls along the esplanade or head down onto the sand for a picnic. The long, sandy beach boasts magnificent views of the Isle of Arran and is also known for its spectacular sunsets. The town itself has a good range of independent shops and eateries, and is also home to a historic golf course, where the first Open Golf Championships were held in 1860. The Ayrshire Coastal Path passes through the town, offering excellent opportunities for walking and wildlife watching. Further afield, enjoy a day trip to Culzean Castle, 16 miles away, or head 17 miles along the coast to Ardrosssan to catch the ferry across to Arran.
