Guests say

Bryn Peris is a charming cottage in Moelfre, Anglesey, praised for its cosy atmosphere, well-equipped kitchen, and enclosed garden. Guests enjoyed the proximity to the beach and local amenities, as well as the property's suitability for families and pets. Some noted the low ceilings and small bedrooms, but the overall experience was positive with many expressing a desire to return.

The property is consistently described as clean and well-kept, with several guests noting it was spotless and smelt lovely upon arrival. Only one mention of a cleanliness issue with the oven and cutlery drawer suggests room for minor improvement.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach, coastal walks, and local village amenities. Guests appreciated the quiet and picturesque setting, making it an ideal base for exploring Anglesey.

The cottage is generally found to be comfortable, with super-comfy beds and a relaxing conservatory. However, some guests mentioned that the seating and dining chairs could be more comfortable, and the bedrooms were noted to be on the small side.

Facilities are well-regarded, especially the well-stocked kitchen and enclosed garden. However, there were several mentions of maintenance issues such as guttering problems and a challenging oven, which suggests that some facilities could benefit from attention.

While many guests found the cottage to be well-equipped and appreciated the inclusion of items like a Nintendo Switch, there were no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

About this property

Sitting within striking distance of the east coast of Anglesey in the pretty village of Moelfre is this detached property, Bryn Peris. This two hundred year old cottage (which reputedly once housed Charles Dickens while he wrote about the wreck of the Royal Charter!) is ideal for families in pursuit of a traditional coastal holiday to this part of North Wales, home to the finest beaches and views. The interior of the property enjoys a clever blend of traditional charm and contemporary design, creating a warm and welcoming base to return to each day. Step into the sitting room, where the exposed beams frame the plush seating arrangement and the traditional open fire, a great spot for unwinding and tuning into the TV as the fire crackles. Whilst the sitting room is great for the whole family to come together, the conservatory offers a tranquil space to enjoy an hour's peace and quiet. Certain to entice a spot of home-cooking is the well-equipped, characterful kitchen, home to a Range cooker and everything else you could possibly need to rustle up a local dish or a tasty snack. Join your loved ones within the dining room, where a woodburning stove gently fills the room with warmth as you toast to a wonderful holiday and plan the following day’s adventures. As the evening draws to a close, head up the stairs to catch your rest within one the well-presented bedrooms, each one enjoying lovely views and enough hanging space for your belongings. Choose between two double bedrooms and a bunk bedroom, which has been designed to delight any younger guests of the group. During the summer months, venture out into your garden and soak up the sun on the lawn, offering a great spot for a picnic and spacious enough for your canine companions to stretch their legs. Look forward to strolling around this charming village, where you will find a number of amenities, including the local shop of Rhen Fecws where you can pick up freshly baked bread, homemade cakes and essentials, accompanied by a pub, a fish and chip shop and a number of cafés. Within the surrounding area you will be spoilt for choice by the beaches that are awaiting to be enjoyed, including the village’s local beach, Traeth Bychan, Porth yr Aber and Porth Helaeth, where all kinds of watersport opportunities can be had, from canoeing, kayaking and kite surfing. Further afield attractions include the beach at Newborough, the city of Bangor and Holyhead, where you can catch a ferry into Dublin for the day. On the downside their are safety concerns mainly at the rear of the property which were raised last year when we stayed and were dissappointed to find them still present. Namely, uneven and loose flagging causing a trip hazard, outside light not working so making that area more hazardous. Gates to the drive rickety and not secure, need bricks to try to stop them blowing open into the street in high winds (dangerous to the public) Central heating needs a look at to drain radiators & sort 'hive' thermostat out, also lower oven on the right needs fixing. Sadly as much as we would want to return we wont be due to the issues and that they haven't been repaired for 12 months.

So well equiped, particularly the spacious kitchen, that absolutely nothing seemed to have been overlooked. Thank you!

Close to many other lovely places on Anglesey well worth visiting. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and would definitely return.
