What our customers say about their holidays

    • Robert - Verified booking

When we arrived we were met y Mandy the owner, it was pointed out to us that the booking had slipped through the net as they wanted to book out our cottage to continue with restoration work.

This did not make us feel especially wanted. We suffered from a problem with the downstairs toilet which continued to flush until we took the lid of and fiddled with it. The bath water was never warm enough for a bath even after 3 times of trying. Then the heating went off, when we asked for it to be turned on again, and be aware the radiators were stone cold when we ask the male owner appeared and said the heating was on 24/7 strangely enough as he arrived the radiators started to warm (luke warm) up, strange that. He insisted the heating did not go off. However after that there was never a problem, strange again. The heating and water were controlled centrally from am app on his phone and this is the first time ever we have not had control of said heating personally. His excuse was that so many visitors believed they had the right to turn heating on and leave it on umm what am I paying my rental fee for. The weather was dismal and cold and we had to sit in a cold house after getting very damp walking our dog. So his bad experience meant we suffered. Now to the point that when we mentioned the toilet problem and the inability to run a hot bath he told us, "The water was on demand but would never cope with filling a bath, oh and yes those are things we know about and are getting fixed in the refit" it would have been useful to know that beforehand rather than suffer the frustration of having to repeatedly try.

I wanted somewhere nestled in the countryside, with stunning views, privacy and peace yet close enough to town to nip out for a takeway or restaurant if I didn't feel like cooking and Llwyncelyn is just the place. The fact that it is also right in the middle of some of the best cycling (with a a capacious lock up shed - great for those days when you want to leave the bikes behind or do some repairs), has footpaths leading out across stunning scenery and (back to that lock up shed) somewhere to stow your fishing gear if that's your particular passion makes this cottage so special. After a long day out and about the hot tub was much appreciated and I am now a convert. Add to that beds that even goldilocks would have to admit are just right and this is somewhere I will come back to. Thank you, we love it!

Excellent cottage very clean and comfortable.

Well equipped my daughter loved her walk in wardrobe and en-suite.I loved the hot tub .very quiet area .We also liked the fact that you told dog owners to keep them on a lead as my daughter even though she is an adult is one of those people who are scared of dogs .It was just the peace and quiet we needed and enjoyed visiting the area despite the weather but we know it always rains when we get to Wales on previous family visits. It was also near a family member so gave us a chance to visit him.The only downside I found was that the two smallest knives were not very sharp when I used them and unfortunately the kettle stopped working on the last morning but that can happen at anytime as they are temperamental.

Myself and two friends were looking to stay in a beautiful part of Wales in a comfortable quiet location. Llwyncelyn Farmhouse fitted our requirements perfectly. We each had our own bedroom and enjoyed visiting some of the many castles, gardens and walks in the area. The kitchen was well equipped and big enough that we could all do our share of the cooking. I would recommend the Cawdor Arms Hotel in Llandeilo for a superb lunch. We only used the log burner on the first evening as the weather was so good and then relaxed in the hot tub the other evenings. The Bullock Gang in the field near the house kept us amused with their antics. Altogether a very enjoyable break.

The cottage is in a great location for exploring the South Welsh coast as well as the Brecon Beacon.

It is one of the best cottages we have stayed in; quiet, private, clean, comfortable and with great views. It had everything we needed. The hot tub was also a welcome treat after spending the day walking. There were 2 other cottages on site as well as the owner”s home but it did not feel overcrowded, noisy or overlooked. We very briefly saw the other guests during our stay. The owner, Mandy, welcomed us on the first day and we knew they were available if any issues. We would highly recommend Gwennol Cottage and we are already looking to rebook in the near future. Thank you Mandy and Kev. Vanessa and Andrew
