"Lovely little village. New farm shop 2 miles away which is great. Owners quick to respond and had kindly agreed to us arriving earlier ( 1.15) if we needed too.Cottage...Bathroom in need of an overhaul. Not able to use bath due to faulty hot water tap ( no water coming out). Strong unpleasent smell of urine coming from around toilet floor which could not be missed. Owners made aware of smell and problem with bath straight away ( not sure how the problems were missed by cleaner or owners when they were there just prior to our arrival) They came round promptly to try and fix but could not. They did not want to inconvenience us with a plumber coming out during our stay. Whilst they did come out and we agreed to no plumber, it did spoil the stay. Owners have arranged for tap to be mended and the flooring is to be changed. It would have been nice if a gesture of goodwill had been offered to acknowledge the inconvenice. Owners are friendly. They are making improvmemts. Wood burner in lounge is nice and warm. Although it does say that fuel and electric ( electric radiators and oven) is provided, you need to supply own logs and coal etc. Best get from farm shop. Garden is lovely and had the weather allowed we would have enjoyed sitting out in it. Would we stay again ? No. We booked last minute so choice was limited. Not fault of owners. Owners very quick to respond and are keen to make sure work is done."

"Myself my husband and our 3 young children along with Sampson our black Labrador stayed at The Old Classroom for our family honeymoon back in May. We had the most perfect stay, we were made to feel super welcome by Ray & Kerry and were even greeted with a beautiful hamper filled with local Cornish produce. The view from the Old Classroom is simply breath taking and the village itself is picture and we were always made to feel welcome at the lovely local pub just down the hill. We visited some amazing Cornish beaches all within a 40 min drive and some fabulous sites including The best tea room in Cornwall. The Old Classroom is beautifully decorated , comfortable and the children even had some toys and games to play with during our stay. We really can not wait to return next year and we were completely sad to leave."

"Charming cottage with great potential. Overall rating suffered due to the very poor level of cleanliness. The depth of dust and dead insect collection had not accumulated in the few hours before our arrival. The open fire had been used and there was ash in the grate and the chimney appeared as if it was due to be swept although a carbon monoxide monitor was provided. However, the smoke alarm in the kitchen was broken and dirty tea towels were left on the dining table. Numerous personal possessions were left in various rooms, for example, we do not expect to find someone else's underwear in the bedside cabinet. It appeared that a permanent resident had moved out for the week expecting to return as soon as we left. We would stay again if basic maintenance tasks are correctly managed."

"A very well set up cottage, just right for two of us with everything you need to hand. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, dishes etc. Modern shower room and good lounge with room to spread out. NIce to find a pint of milk in the fridge and a pack of biscuits waiting for us. The outside seating is a good suntrap and of course you have plenty of space to throw sticks etc for Meg the dog who hasn't quite learned the art of bringing the stick etc back to you.......rather she would leave it some distance away, maybe trying to tell us we need exercise too! Friendly, helpful owners. The only downside is the fact that the village pub is closed so if we wanted to eat out we had to get in the car rather than walk to the village."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage it has all the amenities you could want although as a mum I would have liked a washing machine! It was lovely to sit in the conservatory in the morning and look out onto the gorgeous well kept garden and in the evening with a cold glass of wine. The most local pub is the crows nest Inn & we enjoyed a couple of very nice meals there it is about a 20 minute walk from the cottage. We can also thoroughly recommend Inkies smokehouse at golithafalls which was pretty amazing!!This is a fantastic base to explore this part of Cornwall and such a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life and would highly recommend this cosy cottage."
