What our customers say about their holidays

    • Maimoonah - Verified booking

On arriving one of the main rooms which we required was locked.

After calling the owner he explained they only arranged the amount of beds we booked for. I explained although certain beds were booked some families preferred to stay in separate rooms. He agreed on opening the room but did not supply any bedding. I explained we are happy to have put the bedding on ourselves but he said it was too ‘costly’. I thought this was ludicrous considering we paid almost £6000 for a holiday- it was not made clear on booking that only the amount of rooms used would be unlocked/bed sheets provided. In large groups sometimes more people decide to come and some drop out. The second issue was that there limited supplies of toilet roll and it was very much a nuisance having to remove our own bedding, emptying bins and cleaning the whole place prior to leaving to the standard in which it was prior to us attending. Most of our trip we were concerned about having our deposit taken and therefore it sucked the fun out of our trip. Especially being the organizer it was extremely stressful. The BBQ was very old and the wood was kept outside in the rain so making a fire or BBQ - we had to get most of our supplies. We have attended many other places in large groups but never had to clean as much as we did. On a positive note, the place itself is very large and the games room was lovely, the kitchen had everything needed plus more. The owner did allow us to attend earlier and leave slightly late.

What an amazing stay with friends and family.

The lodge is out in the countryside with stunning views. The pool is fantastic and so easy to use. The outdoor space was used all the time as the weather was kind to us, a real sun trap and cozy space with a huge table too.we ate outside most of the time and on the huge inside dining table once too. The kitchen is really well equipped for cooking feasts for the group. The views from the kitchen conservatory are stunning too and when it’s gone a bit chilly outside this space gets lovely and warm. We went to Penllech, Aberdaron, Nefyn and Hells Mouth beaches and first week in June had them to ourselves. The roads were quiet too thankfully as some are very narrow. I typically took longer routes for wider roads. Our dog was made as welcome as we were by the owners who have working dogs themselves. Some beaches have dog restrictions through the summer but the ones we went to only had a specific area where dogs weren’t allowed so plenty of space where they can run free. All 10 of us had a fantastic time. Thanks so much.

We loved everything about the house: lots of space, cleaned to a very high standard, a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting room and bedrooms, close to Spar supermarket which stocked everything we needed. Our girls loved the garden and really appreciated the piano. The Beach Hut was a real bonus and enabled us to make full use of Nefyn beach in spite of mixed weather. Lots of walks on the coastal path and also at Mynnd Mawr near Aberdaron . Had Sunday lunch at the Nanhoran Arms 220 yards from the house. We visited Morfa Nefyn beach and played Golf on the stunning cliff top course there. Had a lovely family meal at the Cliffs Inn.-Staff very welcoming to children. Less than half an hour away is the Plas Glyn Weddw Art Gallery in Llanbedrog - not only a fantastic Art Exhibition but equally fantastic cakes in the Cafe! As Usual when visiting the Lleyn Peninsula we ran out of time-we will definitely be back. Many Thanks

What a fantastic stay at The Keepers Lodge.

My family wanted to spend Christmas together for the first time in many years and needed somewhere that could accommodate 15 of us plus three dogs that was near to walking routes, the beach but also away from the crowds! This house fitted the bill. It had the bonus of a pool which was used by us every day as it was beautiful and warm. The house was big enough to fit us all comfortably, yet, you could find a space if you wanted time out. There was plenty of pots and pans, crockery, cutlery and glassses. The beds were made up for us, towels were provided for showers (take your own swimming towels) The owners had thought of so much to make our stay wonderful by providing games, books and a comprehensive welcome book. We had a problem with one of the TV’s but Amy came straight away and sorted it out. We would definitely come back. Our ages ranged from 11 to 68 and the house and area was just perfect.

This is a fantastic property for large groups with a variety of comfortable rooms and many ensuite rooms.

Perfect for families as well as corporate functions. Its located in the heart of a beautiful village, close to Barmouth beach, some local amenities and takeaways and cafes, but not close to any large supermarkets, however you can order food shopping. Parking is located just a few minutes walk away with a few spaces outside to unload. The property was clean and the photos do not do it justice. Kitchen is extremely well equipped, there is a drinks chiller in the sitting room as well as a poker table, football table, pool table and shuffleboard. The dining room comfortably seats all guests and there were highchairs and cots available. Bed Linen and hand, bath and teatowels are provided. Fantastic property, easy to contact the owner and the housekeeper who is available and local if you need them. I would definitely recommend.
