Had an amazing break away at the chalet 150 at winterton on sea (couple with a dog).
Comfy bed and quiet and peaceful location with spacious lounge area/dining. Loved the patio doors on front and back for dining in the morning sun at breakfast time or having a drink or two on the back in the evening sun. Everything you need is in the chalet. 10 min coastal walk to beach and 10 minute walk to local village. Local village of Winterton really lovely and calm and chilled out but with enough going in if you want something eg shop, chip shop, pub and tea room. Chip shop was so yummy but worth noting itâs cooked fresh to order so you may have a little wait but you can have a nice walk round the church or gardens or walk to the beach and back to build up an appetite. Poppyâs tearoom lovely garden round the back highly recommend for breakfast/brunch or tea and cake, also dog friendly. Fishermanâs arms pub lovely too beer garden and really modern inside nice food and dog friendly. 20 min walk from chalet to local town of Hemsby recommend a trip to the Lacton arms pub nice food and nice beer garden and dog friendly. Hemsby worth a visit for doughnuts and ice creams or pizza from pizza&kebab at the top of town also thereâs a nice beach boutique store sells lovely clothes but definitely preferred winterton on sea beach and chalet site as itâs very beautiful, peaceful, idyllic and best of all very relaxing. Also the local residents here at the chalets are super friendly and welcoming. Our dog made lots of dog friends too! He loved it, he was so cosy in the chalet as well. He especially loved the beach and coastal walks and playing in the sun and the long stretch of grass lawn with sea views near the chalets but the beach definitely his favourite just amazing winterton on sea beach as it stretches out for miles and miles and itâs so peaceful. The sand is lovely and soft and warm and the sea has beautiful waves, the dunes are great too, we were lucky enough to see a seal in the sea one of the days too. We enjoyed a 10 min drive from the chalet to a local village called Horsey, had an amazing breakfast at Poppylands tea room world war 2 inspired amazing place really gorgeous and lovely food and cake and cute gift shop. Also we were so thrilled to walk to horsey gap beach and got to see loads of seals swimming in the sea there! Even a little pup on the shore! Well worth a visit, only a short walk from tea rooms. 7 mile drive to Great Yarmouth from the chalet - perfect for families who want a Blackpool style/type holiday or an enjoyable place for people like us who just wanted a nice mooch round the shops and a walk and food near the beach. Great Yarmouth also has a big Tesco if you need supplies, we got some bbq food one night and had it on winterton beach which was awesome! âThe lion pubâ on the way to Horsey is well worth a visit as well lovely meal and really lovely couple who own it, made a real fuss of our dog, dog biscuits and everything. I cannot recommend this place enough, itâs just perfect! The location is brilliant, you donât need to use your car at all really unless you want to visit other places, but the chalet is perfect for what you need and the beach and everything is just gorgeous! Worth noting that the chalet isnât detached but still a quiet location not overlooked from the front but is more communal on the back. I would highly recommend this hidden gem! Thank you for an amazing stay Jill. Kira & Jack & Henry the dog x

From the pictures we saw when booking it was clear that Waveney View offered everything we were looking for and we certainly were not disappointed.
On arrival it even managed to exceed our expectations, and how aptly the cottage was named! Inside the living and kitchen areas were the perfect combination of comfort and functionality, plenty of light and space, and the front bedrooms were equally comfortable and shared the same amazing view, whilst the Bathroom was light and bright and had a really good shower! The description â fully equippedâ was totally accurate! Outside we enjoyed a large patio area immediately infront of the Cottage, reserved for our personal use, and the views of and sounds from the numerous varieties of birdlife in their environment, as well as the interest created by the passing river traffic - an ever changing vista! The highlight was of course the view, glorious sunrises and sunsets, of course not every day but even on less sunny days it was amazing how the sun managed to put in an appearance at some time. The location of Waveney View was ideal, a few minutes walk to access the Angles Way, a riverside path running along the bank immediately in front of the cottage, in both directions, and easy access to a network of footpaths locally and those leading to and around the Roman Fort at Burgh Castle. So why do we give this property such a high rating? The Three Ps : Privacy, Position & Possibilities! Located at the end of a lane with private access, conveniently positioned to access local facilities by car - local supermarket 10 minutes, the extensive Beach at Gorlesto-on-sea 15 minutes, and finally numerous possibilities of easy access to Norfolk and Suffolkâs coastal attractions : Cromer to the North and Southwold to the South around an hourâs easy drive, and all that lies in between! The property was spotlessly clean and the owners, Lorraine & Paul, who live in the main house, provided useful information on local places of interest and were fully respectful of our privacy and yet easy to approach as and when required. Out thanks to them for the holiday opportunity that we very much enjoyed. Dontât forget your Camera!

My wife and I stayed here with our Labrador Retriever, so we were looking forward to having somewhere quiet, clean, dog-friendly, and well-equipped - and we were definitely not disappointed!
The accommodation is very quiet, spotlessly clean and has a wonderfully well-equipped kitchen, enabling us to bring a food box with us to cook when we didn't want to go out to the nearby pub (which does surprisingly good food). There's also another pub along the river which is a great place to end up after a half hour wander around the Burgh Castle fields (great for dogs!). It was great to have access to the large grass lawn area directly outside the door for our dog to go and spend while on a long lead, with tranquil views across the river to the nearby wind pumps. The outdoor table and chairs were ideal for enjoying a glass of wine in the Autumn sun. There's plenty of parking too. The owners were helpful and responsive via text message for questions but weren't intrusive and respected our privacy. If you're visiting, check the what3words location as this was wrong. To get to Church Farm, go literally right to the very end of the road, and at the turning circle by the church, turn right and follow the road around to the gates. Don't try and look for bungalows and things on the way, just go straight up to the end. I've informed Sykes of the correct w3w location, so it might be correct now. Just a couple of suggestions (but not criticisms!): - a few pictures in the bedrooms would make them a bit more cheerful as they're well furnished but missing some welcoming touches - maybe some canvas prints of the beautiful Broads? As the third bedroom doesn't have a window, it would definitely benefit from some colour. - the wifi doesn't extend beyond the main room, so you can't stream or go on the internet in the bedrooms. I'd recommend a Powerline Wifi Extender (about £40 from Argos) to create a reliable new wifi hotspot in the accommodation itself. All in all we really enjoyed our holiday here and we're happy to recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful, well-equipped and dog-friendly place to relax.

We had a wonderful weekend for our daughterâs 25th birthday.
The house is beautifully presented with everything you would need, and more, for a very comfortable break. We were very lucky with the weather and got to enjoy the balcony each day. We particularly liked watching the ducks on the pond and the golfers on the adjacent golf course. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you would need to prepare all sorts of meals. We appreciated the ample seating options for all the family, both inside and outside, which can sometimes be lacking in other holiday homes. There is lots to see and do in the surrounding area. We enjoyed a morning over the road at Redwings meeting the horses and donkeys with a break for lunch at the onsite cafe. We also visited Gorleston and Southwold beaches. Both have an ample parking and lots of options to dine out. Adnams brewery in Southwold is well worth a visit. The Five Bells at Wrentham offers a good menu with a range of options for all dietary requirements. Our daughter says their Sticky Toffee pudding is the best she has tasted. The Barn1 clubhouse onsite was good for evening drinks and serve a good breakfast. Sue the host kept us updated well with the relevant information and was available by phone for any enquiries. We would happily return and would recommend to anyone wishing to visit the area.

Waveney View Cottage is an absolutely fantastic place to stay for a holiday.
Paul and Lorraine (the owners) are so helpful and lovely to chat with if you get the chance. The bungalow is comfortable, spacious and has everything we needed. I particularly appreciated the connecting door between the living and sleeping area so we could still watch TV while my daughters were in bed. I also loved the big TV! My daughters loved playing on the play equipment at the bottom of the owner's garden. As already stated in numerous reviews the view is incredible as are the sunsets. We loved the pathways beside the river starting just outside the cottage and often walked up to the Roman ruins. Also being in the grounds of the main house and with the electric gate at the entrance gave me a real feeling of security while being there. There is lots to do nearby and as the weather was good we spent every day at the beach. The best beach we found is at Winterton on Sea where the sand is not too stony, there are good loos and you can watch the seals in the sea. To see lots of seals including on the beach we went to Horsey. Overall I would wholeheartedly recommend Wavaney View Cottage as a superb place to stay for a holiday.
