"Raspberry Cottage is a very pretty cottage from the outside. The garden and outlook are lovely with views across open countryside to the side/rear as it is at the end of a terrace (the only thatched cottage). The local pub is approximately 200 metres from the cottage and serves food. We found it a friendly place and the food was typical pub fare, although they had run out of some options while we were there as it was busy. The location is good as it is close to Deal (10 mins drive) which was a lovely place to visit as were Sandwich and Canterbury (30 mins). Inside, the lounge area was comfortable with a working fireplace that we made use of (although you need your own supplies). The dining room is a good size with all the utensils/crockery provided and a good sized table to sit around. There are historical touches around the cottage that add interest and make it homely. The kitchen and bathroom areas are small and somewhat dated. We had gone with the intention of cooking some of our meals but really the kitchen is not suitable (cooker could do with updating and oven trays were very dirty) so we stuck to making pasta on the first night and then just having breakfast there. The damp smell from the bathroom can be a little invasive but this is probably due to the fact it's not mains drainage. The bedrooms are a good size, although the mattresses have definitely seen better days. Washing up liquid/cloths etc were supplied and we were also left some long life milk/tea/coffee/sugar. Other than that, you need to ensure that you bring supplies (we didn't bring toilet roll as we thought it would be supplied - it wasn't - yet there was a box of tissues in the bedroom and a kitchen roll in the kitchen, so possibly an oversight). However, that said, for the price we paid, we still thought it was a good deal and it is a very sweet little cottage with so much potential."

"The flat is bigger than expected, very cosy and well equipped with anything you might need on your holidays - much more a real living place than a holiday home. It is full of books and information about the area, including a number of maps and lots of leaflets about the attractions of the area. The place has WiFi, a total of 3 TV sets (one in each bedroom and one in the comfortable living room) and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you can imagine. The two bedrooms sleep up to 5 people, and the bathroom has a giant bathtub. Although there is no private parking, there's a public car park at close distance, as well as the local shop and 2 pubs.We would always happily book again!"

"Great apartment - tastefully decorated, everything you could possible need, comfy beds and very clean. The welcome shortbread and tea, coffee and milk were very much appreciated after a long journey. Only complaint was the external noise from the pub next door early in the mornings - moving bottles and rolling barrels at 7.30 am and also the traffic noise (we live in a cul-de-sac and so are not use to hearing buses and cars racing past at all hours). On the whole, a lovely place to stay; good base for exploring Kent. The beach at the end of the road at St Margaret's is worth a visit and nearby Deal was very nice."

"The cottage is very cozy, tiny floor space, but spread over 3 floors and has everything you need to feel good. We did not know the owner, since the key in a box at the house is deposited and we had no further need. There was a welcome wine ready for us - very nice! Deal is a beautiful place, you can find many nice corners and pubs beautiful beach (no sand, pebbles - pebbles, but also very nice). Very nice surroundings - nature (white cliffs), culture (Canterbury), castles and gardens in comfortable driving distance."

"We loved this cottage. I went with husband and 2 teenage sons so was very pleased with the beds. The cottage was very well equipped. The welcome basket was much appreciated after our long journey to get there. You could walk to the beach from the cottage but we drove. It's a lovely long beach although stony there is plenty of space. The waves are gentle and it's not too deep until some way out. It was great to be so close during the heatwave!! Richard and Liz couldn't have been more hospitable."
