"This flat has so much room, lovely big bedroom , good size living room and practical kitchen and bathroom. Had everything we required. The garden outlook is really lovely, I liked watching the birds and squirrels, and the pheasant made my day. On the other side of the wall were the cows in their field, lovely outlook to, and they weren't noisy. The church at the end of the garden needs exploring, lovely place. The only reason I wouldn't go back is because we like to explore different areas, and this place let us do that. I'd thoroughly recommend it, the owner even left a cake for us, and gave us some potatoes. We had a relaxing stay. As it says on the description, internet a bit intermittent, but what else do you expect out in the countryside. A sat nav or map, phone app, does prove useful in getting about, or a detailed paper map."

"We particularly enjoyed driving through the private park on the way to Callow Cottage, with sheep and cows wandering around. With a fully fitted, clean kitchen, with all crockery and cutlery catered for, we felt well looked after. The WIFI access was great, the views from the cottage absolutely superb and the kids were overjoyed with sheep at the bottom of the garden. They were almost as happy when finding a swing attached to the large tree on the left of the garden gate in the 'sheep's' field. A fantastic 5 nights sleep was had by all, with clean sheets and duvets on very comfortable beds. This was followed each morning with a breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the garden. All in all - great break away, in a well looked after cottage, highly recommended and will (subject to availability) book again without hesitation."

"We stayed visiting family in the East Midlands, from Australia, plus points-position it's around three miles from Derby city centre but you do need a car Tess and Bill are friendly, helpful and very approachable, Tess bales on a weekly basis so expect a cake to welcome you. The accomodation is described appropriately both here and on Sykes Cottages Webpage. Good size, excellent parking. Good position, beautiful views and nice walks if the weathers good. The only negative and the reason for four not five stars is the cottage needs comfy sofas as we stayed over three weeks and the current ones are not comfy to sit on watching TV, also the whole place is needing redecorating it's pretty shabby chic. Having said that it's warm and the beds are comfy, we will definitely stay again next time we're in the area"

"The flat is spacious with a lovely kitchen and a good master bedroom. The second bedroom is small, but our teenager was comfortable there. One criticism would be the comfort of the sofas in the lounge area- they weren't at all comfortable for long periods and we resorted to getting the chair out of the bedroom for watching TV. We had some powercuts during our stay as the energy company were working on the cables. The owners were brilliant, they kept us informed and provided us with alternatives when possilbe. All in all a lovely visit with great hospitality from the owners and in an idyllic setting next to the Church. Radbourne is close to so many visitor attractions you would need a fortnight to even scratch the surface. We will definitely return, just looking for an excuse!"

"Overall the cottage was just about okay. There were simple things that let it down.Positive-The cottage was in a good location for walking the manifold way up to Wetton hill and Thors cave. It was on the main road though and very noisy. It had character and the wood burner was good for warming the house up.The kitchen area was small but had good equipment. You would struggle to fit 4 people around table.Negative- overall cleanliness was really bad and comment book had many comments about this. The cushions on the sofa had lots of stains on them.Bedding was clean though.Main bed was uncomfortable and springs and electric blanket could be felt.Small tv which scratched our DVD and then wouldn't play others. The towels were too small.I wouldn't stay there again I'm afraid."
