What our customers say about their holidays

    • Ms Biddlestone - Verified booking

Absolutely fabulous stay from start to finish. The property is so beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice on just how big and amazing it really is. Alex is very helpful and attentive from the welcome Prosecco, to little notes left around the property and the texts and calls back and forth between us due to storm darragh causing a power cut, alex even sorted getting us wood from her neighbour and updates on the power returning. It did not dampen our weekend away a large group of adults, mainly couples who go away once a year without the kids. Beds are super comfortable, blankets available and we all love a blanket, kitchen had everything we needed and large enough fridge and freezers for all our food and alcohol. Hot tub was great and very clean, games room was our favourite room, the girls could watch a film in the sitting area while the lads played pool/darts etc and we was still all together. Do not have one bad thing to say about our stay and would highly recommend! We normally stay in a new property every time we go away but if we was to return anywhere it would be here!

We were lucky to arrive on a perfect winter afternoon. The barn's backdrop is a hillside that was catching the afternoon sun, and the valley was filled with clouds, making a cloud inversion arrival the perfect start to our week! The route to the barn may look intimidating but we managed it no problem throughout a week that included some cold wet mornings in my wifes 2 wheel drive mini. The location is stunning with numerous walks from the door and the full expanse of the Brecon Beacons within easy reach. Copious amounts of wood for the woodburner, but in reality the barn is so well insulated that we used it more for effect than needing it for warmth, despite the temp dropping to -5 ' during our stay. Cozy bedlinen got my wifes approval and everything worked as it should. 10 out of 10 for everything from us . We will be back !

Kavieng was a superb getaway for a week, the accommodation was spotless and perfectly as described/illustrated, in fact it surpassed our expectations, it really is in a lovely spot and extremely well look after.

Vicky and Stuart can't do enough for you, from the tasty welcome pack to the 'things you may have forgotten' to there warm welcoming personalities, they have all bases covered. Lots of local walks from the door to enjoy in what is a stunning location (albeit largely wet during our stay), definitely worth a walk to the Dragon where you can be greeted with a smile and a good pint or further afield enjoy Sugar Loaf. Plenty of places to eat within a short hop, Abergavenny offers local supermarkets and a wide selection of restaurants, would recommend Casa Bianca, that was nice but slightly further away but worth the trip is Hunters Moon, 13th century pub, but you do need to book a meal in advance. Loved this holiday property and would highly recommend, enjoy, you won't be disappointed if you are after a quiet getaway!

      It was great.

I've stayed in loads of holiday homes and this one was excellent and definitely offered some of the best value. Clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful owners, brilliantly equipped kitchen, lovely cosy living room. Any feedback I could offer would be really really pedantic, like I didn't really like the table cloth! The only thing that might be good is a shoe rack of some sort in the hall. Maybe a wall-mounted shoe cabinet type thing. It was bad enough with my three pairs of muddy shoes but I imagine if it's full of walkers in winter it could be interesting! Oh also lovely garden with the brook running through. Very peaceful setting. Thanks for a fab holiday

    Tretower Castle & Court

This architectural wonder spans 900 years of history. Tretower is two wonders in one as just across the castle green lies an entire medieval court that became a byword for magnificence. You'll find the great hall set up just as if it were for a lavish feast in the 1460s. A recreated 15th century garden contains fragrant white roses that represent Sir Roger's passionate Yorkist sympathies. Mostly accessible for wheelchair users, dogs on leads welcome, gift shop, refreshments, picnic tables, toilets, child friendly.

    Hay Festival

The annual Hay Festival is a world-renowned celebration of literature, arts, and culture. From Nobel laureates to emerging writers, it attracts the biggest names in the literary world. The festival also offers a fantastic programme of music, comedy, and film, as well as activities for children. With a beautiful setting in the Brecon Beacons, it's a must-visit for any bookworm. Address: Hay Festival, Dairy Meadows, Brecon Road, Hay-on-Wye, HR3 5PJ

    Big Pit National Coal Museum

Big Pit National Coal Museum is an industrial heritage museum in Blaenavon, Torfaen, Wales. It was a working coal mine from 1880 to 1980, then was opened to the public in 1983 as a charitable trust.

    Pen y Fan

Pen y Fan is one of the most popular walks in Wales. When the weather is fine, the views are truly splendid, with mile upon mile of rolling hills. There are marked trails on the walk, so please stick to these and take care - some sections are steep and the drop at the top is sheer. Take a look at the 'Visit Wales' website for more information - it features the Pen y Fan walk among others.
