"We had a lovely stay at Top Barn. The barn itself is clean, modern, well done and perfectly kitted out, although we found the sofas very uncomfortable. Lovely big space outside. We knew the house was some distance from amenities etc as explained in the description of the barn, which we thought wouldn’t be a problem but by the end of the week we were a bit fed up with it, and is the only reason we wouldn’t stay there again. This didn’t have anything to do with the Barn itself, which I would highly recommend as long as you are happy in the middle of nowhere (plus side is that Tesco delivered!) The other thing to note is that you are in very close proximity to the owners so your paths do cross (which wasn’t an issue for us) and they do cross the garden space to get to barns every day so if you are looking for somewhere super private this wouldn’t be the house for you."

"Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings but if your on holiday with dogs I would look at a cottage closer to the beach as we had 2 dogs and we had to drive out very day because there was not many dog walks. There was no signal so if you wanted to use your phone you had to drive out which is a total pain. The stair case in the cottage is not suitable with dogs but my dogs nearly fell down them as there very slippery. The farmer was lovely and when we arrived there was homemade cakes and tea bags so this was very nice. I would recommend this property but if you've got dogs I would choose somewhere near to the beach or more central."

"This is a beautifully renovated cottage with some quirky little features which we loved. It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Nice touch with the welcome bottle of wine and Welsh cakes and a very friendly and informative owner to greet you on arrival. It’s in a great location with the village only a 5 min walk away. Beautiful beaches, castles or Brecon Beacons all within a short drive for lovely days out. We had family come to visit and all celebrated the Royal wedding with Pimms and a cream tea in the garden which was great fun. We would stay here again and would highly recommend it."

"Fantastic location, very peaceful and the gardens surrounding the cottage we stayed in are beautiful. The owners, Pixie & John, were very friendly, especially to our 2yr old little boy - the cot & highchair they supplied for him were perfect. The furniture, decor, carpet etc could do with updating, but this didn't affect our stay at all. The carpets at least could do with a clean. Having a log fire in the front room was a real treat. We would stay again. The cottage and surrounding gardens really added to the wonderful holiday we had in Wales."

"Cosy and comfortable. Unusual and interesting layout on several levels. Stairs steep for anyone with restricted mobility. Excellent for a quiet break (very rare phone or internet signal). Only a few miles from Llandovery or Llangadog along very quiet roads, but remote in sense you will need to take car out for anything other than walk up the road to local forestry commission woodland which has nice short routes. Short trip to the Black Mountain otherwise. Very friendly owner with friendly dogs!"
