"I am a 40 yr old male professional and I stayed at The mill stone riding center cottage for 7 weeks. It was an unusually long stay for a holiday let, and i know i was extremely lucky to have had this vacancy for as long as i needed. Its a real gem of a place. As a hub for exploring the UK or working within wolverhampton or surrounding area, you cant beat the west midlands. It is just far enough yet close enough to city centers, Peak district, lake district, try and see it all... I did. Plus its location within Pattingham is walking distance to a nice pub (the Pigot Arms), grocery, horses of course! and bridleway walking paths. Its a renovated old horse stable with loads of charm, a smart layout w comfortable furnishings. The bedroom is roomy and comfortable, new and clean bathroom, kitchen, flat screen TV's, Stereo, free Wi-Fi, freezer and separate area for the washer and dryer. The private garden out back is a mature retreat with lots of roses blossoming if you stay in May thru July. Its a very a special place and I'd stay again without hesitation. 10 out of 10 stars from me after 7 weeks, nuf said. The owners are very friendly and more than willing to help with any of your needs. I can't say enough how much this place and its owners made me feel at home despite it being thousands of miles away for me. Thank you Tim and Louise, I really hope we can share another glass again someday. Cheers!"

"Clean. Accommodation flexible (lots of bedrooms). However, our double bedroom did not have a wardrobe! Kitchen well equipped and sufficient size for our large (12) group. Lounge dreadful, massive space, lighting appalling. The lounge was chilly during the day and freezing in the evening (rainy June). The central-heating is totally inadequate in this room. There is a log burning "feature fire" which has seen better days, which guests have to light, it is useless at heating such an enormous space. Besides freezing, everybody spending the evening in there comes out reeking of smoke! We were under the impression that this property was suitable for people with mobility issues, it is not. There are steps into the property and steps between the kitchen and the lounge. The access road got very boggy and rutted due to the torrential rain when we were there. So, anyone with a small or low car may want to be aware of this."

"We stayed at the Generals Quarters as a group of friends. This place is amazing. It was a privilege to stay in such an old building that had been so thoughtfully restored. The restoration is still ongoing in the grounds but its easy to see how beautiful these will be with time. The house itself is a few miles from shops and pubs but if you come prepared there is no real reason to leave! You might want to bring a board game or two though. The house itself had more than enough space for 14 adults. The kitchen was well equipped for preparing meals for everyone and all the bedrooms were large and had their own individuality. We would definitely return here, what a great experience."

"We had a fabulous long weekend at The General's Quarters! The property is absolutely stunning, it has been beautifully renovated with the downstairs rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms all being a wonderful size, perfect for relaxing in and stunningly warm in the cold weather. There are a lot of things to do within a 10-15 minute drive, if you want to go somewhere. Equally there are lots of living spaces at the property if you just want to relax. You can also do walks straight from house. We were a group of 11 and although we all had different interests (just chilling out, walking, exploring, archaeology) and needs (children, dogs) it suited us perfectly. We will definitely be back!"

"The cottage was lovely - comfy, clean and cosy. The little 'extras' were very welcoming too - tissues and bottles of water in all the bedrooms and a packet of biscuits waiting on the kitchen table.A simple 'tick list' of switches to flick or advice to quickly make the most of the accommodation would be great, just for ease, allowing visitors to quickly set things up and then relax, knowing that everything is working efficiently. The location was perfect for us and we visited some very attractive and interesting places. The view from the cottage was of Long Mynd - beautiful. We had a really enjoyable week and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others."
