What our customers say about their holidays

    • Angela - Verified booking

This was our first proper winter and Christmas Break away from Kent.

And I am delighted to report that our stay at NI Cottage was wonderful. And we would stay again. For our needs it was perfect. Despite howling winds and snow dusting the surrounding countryside. We stayed effortlessly warm and snug in the cosy enclave of this cottage. The walls being constructed of stone and 2 feet thick and double glazing all around. You could not hear the howling wind. All facilities for a home from home experience were in place, cosy and characterful in this listed property. The location is perfectly placed in the hills outside of the picturesque villages of Haworth (15 min walk) and Oxenhope. With excellent choices of watering holes and restaurants. And within earshot and view of the local Heritage Steam Railway. Which was very busy with Elf and Santa Express excursions. To hear the iconic sounds and sights of a Steam Train chugging and puffing it's way through the valley was a delightful backdrop to the peace and quiet of this location during our stay! We cannot recommend this location enough. It suited us as we like to explore and walk, and partake of the local offerings of real ale and good local food. We cannot recommend the Steam Packet Brewery in Haworth enough. To be able to then retreat to the peace and quiet of the cottage was great. The owners lived on site, next door in an enviable traditional stone historic farmhouse and were on hand to check in with us to see if everything was OK. If you are the type of people who are looking for a quiet cosy retreat. Are happy keeping your own company and don't need all the bells and whistles of a busy resort location on your doorstep. Then this is the place for you.

Stayed in Haworth a few times but this is by far the best.

Close to everything and well equipped. Little dog enjoyed the fully enclosed garden. The facilities are good with plenty of utensils. There is smart tv for anyone with a Netflix or Amazon prime account. The owner, Sue, contacted us prior to our stay and also whilst we were there to ensure that there were no issues. Not intrusive at all and we didn’t need anything as it was all catered for. There were some dog treats and a Christmas present for the dog which she really enjoyed. (And a bottle of wine and cake for us humans which was greatly appreciated). Bed was comfy, log burner was great and the cottage was always warm due to the central heating. (You have instructions to change the settings although we had no need to). Loads of great walks, albeit quite muddy at this time of year. All the pubs we went in are dog friendly, as are most of the cafes. Its not all about Main Street as the lower part of the village also has some good places, some of which are new so well worth a visit as Main Street is busy. We always tidy up when we leave and when we arrived home it was nice to receive a message thanking us for treating the cottage as we do our own home, which we do. Was a great stay, snowed Christmas night and had a great walk in the snow on boxing day. Steam train is a good trip too with a bar on the train and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend Haworth and this cottage :)

Communication from the owner Sue was great from the initial booking.

She even contacted us the day before to say that we were free to arrive anytime on the day. The welcome treats were very much appreciated, as were the little things like washing up liquid and hand soaps. The cottage was very clean and tidy and had everything we required. It is in a fantastic location being a 5 minute walk from Haworth Main Street, with its many dog-friendly pubs, eateries and shops.(Be warned a lot of the shops and eateries are closed on Monday & Tuesday, due to it being so busy at the weekend) There are numerous walks and marked footpaths on the doorstep and the likes of Skipton and Ilkley are only 30 minutes away by car. The train station is only a short walk. We literally turned left at the front door and left again 200 yards up the road, and 9 miles later we had done a loop over Penistone Hill, Bronte Falls and Top Withens. A pint of Timothy Taylors never tasted so good! Highly recommend a visit to Cobbler's Cottage and friendly Haworth.

This is the perfect cottage, in an ideal location for everyone.

Its close to Howarth centre, shops and a number of fantastic pubs and Cafes. It is in a very dog friendly area with lots of fantastic walks on the doorstep and beyond on the moors. There are several market towns within a short drive to visit such as Skipton and Hebden Bridge. In short this beautiful comfy cosy cottage is perfect ! My husband and I and our two Westies Lily and Alfie are going to be going back to stay again in the autumn. We have recommended it to friends and family members who are also looking to stay there on our recommendation. They will not be disappointed . Sue thank you for our amazing stay 10 out of 10 from someone who has stayed in numerous Sykes cottages over the years and this has been the best all rounder by far. We will be back to stay with you soon Claire xx

We enjoyed our stay at the Cobbler’s Cottage very much.

We loved it’s character and coziness while at the same time enjoying modern facilities where you need them. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and supplied with everything we needed. There were even things you don’t always get in other holiday homes like washing up liquid, kitchen towel, hand wash etc. There were even batteries and a torch there! Sue, the owner is also very good at communication; she let us know when the cottage was ready for us and made sure we didn’t want for anything. The location of the cottage is great as well; only a couple of minutes away from the centre of the village yet tucked away from noise and busy times. We are very much looking forward to staying at this cottage again next year. Vesna
