    Ilkley Holiday Cottages

The spa town of Ilkley is a postcard-perfect location characterised by its stone and whitewashed buildings, brightly planted flower beds and clear skies. Well located for connectivity to nearby towns and cities, Ilkley’s heritage as a spa town makes it a popular tourist destination for those seeking some more traditional architecture and quieter streets than other local neighbourhoods.

Although no longer a health destination as it was intended, holiday cottages in Ilkley still prove popular among tourists. Surrounded by moorland and famous for the Ilkley Moor, there’s countryside and walking routes right on the doorstep, alongside plenty of opportunities in the town centre to unwind. Vintage tea rooms offer traditional afternoon tea and small independent retailers sell everything from gifts to clothes to second-hand books. There’s an annual literature festival held in the town, along with other events throughout the summer.

Snaptrip’s Ilkley holiday cottages include properties with swimming pools, high-speed WiFi connection, Sky TV, fire pits and pet-friendly facilities. Search using feature filters if you have something specific in mind for your break away. We have thousands of holiday homes to choose from throughout the UK and a friendly customer service team on hand, should you need them.

The property itself was really nice.

No expense spared. The surroundings were beautiful and it was amazing to see little lambs in the field next door. Walks from the door and nice area to explore. Really nice walks within short driving distances too. Some cracking little pubs nearby too. Not quite within walking distance but driveable. Made a friend with the owners dog he is amazing! A few items to be aware of if you plan on visiting. The road upto the cottage is very rough. If you have a small car you will struggle. I have an AWD and I was surprised I didn't damage my car going up and down it. Bring your own basic condiments such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, foil etc otherwise all washing and dishwasher items are supplied. Heating is controlled by the owner via an app. The actual control is abit tricky to override if you don't know how to use it and unless you have the fire going you won't feel the affects of underfloor heating. The owner in future should explain to people staying how you override it. There was no welcome pack. Need to supply a book as of yet there isn't anything with any guidance or instructions. The property would also benefit from a key safe so that on departure you can leave your key safely. The owner wasn't there when we left on the morning so we had to leave it with next door. With some minor tweaks and improvements this place would be perfect.

The Piggery is a lovely cottage.

The cottage is set on a hill outside the village of East Morton on a farm. After a bone rattling car ride up the track the view from the cottage is amazing. Inside there is a utility room with laundry facilities and second loo. The kitchen has everything you need and the owners had left us some milk and eggs. The lounge is very comfy and has a smart TV. We didn’t find the TV that easy to control as the remote is very sensitive! The bedroom has plenty of storage and the bed is comfy. There is a nice en suite with walk in shower. We were fortunate to have sunny weather when we were there and the bedroom gets very hot as there is only one opening window. We could have opened the bedroom door and let the air through from the lounge but we don’t like the dog in the bedroom so we had the door shut. So maybe a fan would be welcomed? The garden was fine for our dog- it’s not enclosed but our dog just pottered about the grassy area in front. All in all a lovely place to sit with a g&t and watch the wildlife - we saw housemartins, red kites, buzzards, an owl, pheasants and a kestrel. We’d definitely go back. A visitors book would be good for people to leave tips for places to visit& eat out etc . We had day trips to Ilkley, Grassington, Bolton Abbey and a walk along the canal at Five Rise Locks.

We had a wonderful week here in March!

We were greeted by the owner who was really friendly and welcoming! Our year old Springer was immediately at home with plenty of space to run around and was welcomed with a pack of dog biscuits! The cottage is beautiful and had everything we needed and more, it was a real home from home. Probably the only things I could think to add would be a separate bin for recycling and an information pack! When we had an issue with the heating, it was immediately rectified even though it was into the evening! We were able to walk out from the cottage and explore the surrounding area and just at the bottom of the lane we had a lovely meal in the local pub which is alongside a great community shop! The views from the cottage are so beautiful, and sitting with coffee in the morning and a glass of wine late afternoon admiring them, meant that we went home totally relaxed! A week just didn’t feel long enough so we will definitely be going back!

Very cosy and comfortable cottage in the bustling village of Addingham.

The weather was cold and wet but the cottage was easy to warm with the log burner, central heating and hot water for baths after the long walks. A very comfortable super king bed and well equipped kitchen. We had trouble with streaming bbc iPlayer via the TV (maybe broadband speed?). Parking not an issue. The road is fairly busy in the day but quietens down at night (being from London it didn’t bother us). The regular bus service was great and we got the bus from near the cottage to Bolton Abbey and ilkley. We drove to Malham about 30 mins away and not to be missed. The village has five pubs (we had good meals at two of them) an Indian takeaway and a well equipped coop. The Swan also does takeaway fish and chips to order.

A charming and cosy annex situated in the centre of Ilkley.

The living space is comfortable and warm, with an easy-to-work television, books to read and various holiday guides. A small kitchenette provides most things necessary for a short stay. The bathroom has a modern shower and and is spotlessly clean. An airy and light bedroom completes this small but perfectly formed dwelling. A lovely touch is the bottle of Prosecco in the fridge, which can be enjoyed in the garden seating area if you have the weather! The friendly owners are on hand if you need help, but more than happy to stay in the background for those who enjoy privacy. The one thing I would suggest if you have a lengthy journey to get here - pick up some milk on your way for that all-important cup of Yorkshire tea!
