    • Rayma - Verified booking

Beautiful & cosy cottage in a lovely village location, lovely aspect completely unoverlooked with beautiful open views to the rear of the property.

Once you're inside you don't feel like you're in a terrace, the exterior walls (16" thick) and deep double glazing keeping out all noise from outside. Not that there was much as it's such a peaceful spot, but during our stay workmen arrived to carry out some maintenance on the electricity cables in the village and about 12 of them turned up in about 6 vehicles with a generator which was set up near the little green opposite the cottage, and we didn't hear a thing, we woke naturally and when I pulled the curtain back I couldn't believe all the activity. They were only there a day but it certainly put the soundproofing of the cottage to the test! This is one of the best & most thoughtfully equipped cottages we have ever stayed in, there wasn't anything we needed that wasn't provided - even tea & coffee and tin foil, cling film & kitchen roll. And there were even dog bowls & treats provided for your four-legged friend. Lovely & clean and a super bathroom with impressive shower - great water pressure too! The personal touches like lemon cake, wine & eggs from the owner's chickens were greatly appreciated. We didn't use the log burner in the end as the central heating was so efficient and we even had to turn several of the radiators down. Loved the charming & cosy decor and particularly loved the artisan rustic furniture, all very in keeping with the lovely character of the cottage. Very comfortable king size bed. Lovely dog walk straight from the door down a traffic free lane, all the way down to the river, but be warned, you have to climb back up! Newcastle Emlyn 10 mins drive away, lots of lovely shops including a butcher, an organic produce shop where we bought some artisan sourdough bread. The Cardigan Bay coastline is 30 mins drive away & we had a lovely coastal path walk to Tresaith. All in all, an excellently equipped, delightfully cosy cottage in a peaceful, get-away-from-it-all village setting but only 10 mins from 'civilization' and 30 mins to lovely beaches. Perfect for a couple or a couple with one child/teenager. Can't recommend highly enough. We will be back!

I booked the cottage to surprise my kids for Christmas and what a surprise it was.

Where to start, the grounds and location was amazing your not too far from town but it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. The facilities were clean and in good condition the addition of the washing machine was a good surprise. The cottage was very nicely set up and instantly felt like home with everything you could need including Netflix and prim. The games room went down really well and we spent our evenings making good memories. The hosts went above and beyond in help making it a wonderful Christmas. On hearing my plan Josie helped decorated the cottage making it feel like Christmas and the added treats and eye for detail was the icing on the cake. Even our doberman loved playing in the secure paddock. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you for an amazing stay.

We found Green Grove Barn a perfect place to stay.

It had everything we needed and being out in the country it is so quiet and peaceful. The 'WOW' factor of the house is the wonderful view from the lounge and its balcony of the lake, fields and hills. When we visited, the Barn had not been open long and all the “white goods” were brand new and sparkling clean. The rooms are spacious and are beautifully decorated with plenty of storage space. The kitchen has everything you could ever need. Kathy and Peter were so friendly and welcoming and the information file they provided was excellent with not only details of the house but also suggestions of places to visit and local walks. We couldn't have wished for better accommodation.

A beautiful cottage for 2 or 3 people.

Very comfortable and well furnished. The main bedroom with its vaulted ceiling is a delight and a lot of thought has gone into the room lighting. The kitchen is well equipped with items such as electronic scales not usually found in holiday lets. The only small criticism was that the cooking utensils such as pans and bowls were sized for a larger group not a couple. The internet was very poor during my stay, worse than dial up, and I had no 3G phone connectivity. The owner says this is being addressed so hopefully others will have a better service. All in all a wonderful cottage with a delightful, helpful owner which I’d be happy to visit again.

A lovely cottage and owner Jenny can not do enough for you always on hand if needed.

Set in a hamlet, all facilities are in the town of Newcastle Emyln roughly 3 miles away, you can get all that is needed there. There are beautiful walks and drives out to many places including the coast is only 30minutes away. The cottage does make you sit back and catch your breath, quiet, very relaxing, and a lovely little private garden area at the back, also dog friendly and secure. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable, the shower room is great with a lovely view to add! We can not complain about a single thing we have had a lovely holiday and would return here again, would highly recommend it to anyone. Kath
